Laggy bootvideo

Hi there

I've got a RPI 4 8GB with latest recalbox installed and a few roms. I have a custom bootvideo but when I start recalbox, the video is very laggy. Need some help, I could not find anything on the web.

@nonameboy Have you tried with another video? In another resolution?
The video can be in problematic compression, sometimes converting to a simpler format or a lower resolution can solve it (Ex.: it's no use putting a 4k video at an Rpi, but an mp4 at 720p should work fine)

@zing thanks. I forgot to mention the video is 720p mp4, still lagging

Sorry, but it wasn't clear if you tested it with another video or if you just tested it with one and now just specified the resolution...
Please test with another video.

I'm not sure what it might be, you need to test it, I mentioned resolution only as an example, but I mentioned compression, I'm not an expert on the subject, but an .mp4 video may have been compressed with CODEC H.264 or CODEC H.265, or several others codecs... Sometimes converting the original video to the same format and the same resolution using another CODEC solves it...

It's easy to find some videos on youtube ready for this, I think if you search for "recalbox splash" or "recalbox intro" you'll find several, test with one of these...

@zing thanks zing I tried converting to lower resolutions, changing codecs nothing helps. The same video runs fine on a pi 3 thou

@nonameboy I don't have an Rpi4 so I can't test it, but there are no reports of other users with the same problem, and it doesn't make sense to work better on Rpi3 and not work on Rpi4.

What version of Recalbox are you using (say version, don't say "latest")?
Did you build your Recalbox yourself, or download a ready-made image from the internet?
Have you tried with another SD card?
