I have a some small feature requests vor GPIO implementation in Emulationstation menu. When enabling GPIO controller it would be nice wenn buttons will be automatically mapped. The pinout is given from the driver so, this should be possible I hope. It would also be cool if there would be an option to choose how many GPIO controllers to use. I have an RPi2, but need only the GPIO Controller for one Player.

I started my retro passion in 1985 with my C64.....Today I have a small (retro) console collection including NES, SNES, N64, GC, Wii, WiiU, GB, GBC, GBA, NDS, DSi, 3DS, 3DS XL, 2DS, NEW 3DS, SMS, SMD, SG, SD, XBOX, XBOX360, XBOX ONE, PSone, PS2, PS3, PS4, PSP, PS VITA, VECTREX, C64, AMIGA 600, MIST Board, Turbo Chamäleon

True. It will be in next release.

You can set the GPIO 1 for player 1 and an other joystick for player 2 if you need.

yes, I know, but when I only have wired my case for one player and it shows 2 controllers connected is confusing in a enduser point of view. therefore it would be nice to have a setting for saying your raspberry pi how many gpio controllers I do use.
