Twisted Metal 4 Multitap 4-players (PSX)
-
Is there any way to make the 4-players Twisted Metal 4 work?
I already tried putting all the controls in "Standard" in the retroarch menu (which allowed me to play Crash Team Racing 4-players) but in this case it did not work.
Nor did anything happen forcing the controls in emulationstation and I already tried enabling multitap 1, 2 and both at the same time.
If multitap 1 is enabled you can not do anything because controller 1 does not work, so you can not even start the game
If multitap 2 is enabled, controller 1 works, you can enter the menu, start a game of 4 but only let player 1 to select, when the moment of selection for player 2 comes nothing can be done, since controller 2 does not work
Thank you very much and sorry for the basic English -
@jmf may changing the pad type to „dualshock“ or „analog“? I suppose that game was release after the dualshock was introduced.

@jmf
Which system do you use? Pi3 or a PC?
I just installed Recalbox 18.07.13 on a new USB stick, then booted it up on my Intel NUC and connected 4 PS3 Controllers (original Sony DualShock3).
At first i did a Controller remap and then i transfered all needed PSX BIOS Files and Twisted Metal 4 to the system and started the game.
When in Game, i pressed Hotkey + B (X on PS3 Controller) and went to Quick Menu, Options and enabled Port 1 Multitap (i left Port 2 Multitap disabled). After resuming the game i exited it, by pressing Hotkey + Start.
Then i started the Game again and 4 players works with no problems
I just tried to do the same on my Pi3 with Recalbox 18.07.13, but unfortunately it does not work, because on Pi3 the default Emulator Core for PSX is PCSX_REARMED (= PCSX-ReARMed r22) and there is no other Core like MEDNAFEN_PSX (= Beetle PSX 0.9.44.1) available

MEDNAFEN_PSX is the default Core on X86_64 Recalbox and with this Core it works, but not with PCSX_REARMED.
With PCSX_REARMED the problem is like you described above. -

Thanks for your answer
I tried the controller type in analog but it did not work either
The closest thing to work is activating multitap 2, deactivating 1, which activates the option for 4 players, but only control 1 responds
Also tried with retropad, retropad w / analog but it's the same@joinski said in Twisted Metal 4 Multitap 4-players (PSX):

It's true, I forgot to mention that I use an RPI3
So it must be a problem with pcsx rearmed and the game as you say
I tried Twisted Metal 3 and it's the same, only controller 1 works -
Hi, could you tell me what you did to play multiplayer on CTR?
