Anyway to lock the settings?

As the tittle says, i search but nothing came out, i just dont want kids to mess up my setting,s thanks for any help

bartop mode in recalbox.conf

## EmulationStation
### menu style
### default -> default all options menu
### none -> no menu except the game search menu
### bartop -> less menu, only needed for bartops
emulationstation.menu=default

For me, it makes no difference what settings it is in. It always behaves like "default". Where might I have to look to track this down?
