you need the good romset....
Hello!
I have a raspberry pi 3 model B, running on latest Recalbox. Just bought 2 DragonRise Inc. USB Zero Delay Joystick and made myself a bartop arcade. Everything works fine except in neogeo/fba emulators.
I don't seem to have an up and down direction on my the games on neogeo using the USB arcade joysticks.
I tried connecting a PS3 controller on player 1 and the arcade controller on player 2. Works just fine on the PS3 controller but still no up and down on the arcade joystick.
My question is, where can I change the configuration of the controller inputs? I tried accessing retroarch in-game but FBA is not run by retroarch it apparently.
Still a noob here so any help is much appreciated. Thanks!
hello
fba is pifba , standalone emulator
you need to use fba libretro core.
Hi @acris yup, I know.
But the games that I want to play (Metal Slug) doesn't play on fba libretro core.
Also, it might be nice if I can configure the pifba controller config.
Thanks!

I think your missing the point here. All of the games at my NeoGeo emulator doesn't have the up and down direction when using the usb arcade joystick. I want to change that.
@granderjoree Does Metal Slug play on FBA Libretro or not ? If not you don't have the right romset and there is nothing more to be said as you need a retroarch core to configure controllers and FBA standalone isn't one
It doesn't play on FBA Libretro. So there's nothing I can do to configure controllers on standalone FBA?
I just put all my neogeo games on the folder and that's the default emulator.
@granderjoree
Hi, I also have 2 Dragonrise in my bartop, working fine. And FB Alpha v0.2.97.42.
Now big question, you put the bios "neogeo.zip" into your /roms/neogeo folder ?
@dragu
Yes.
@granderjoree
Look at the size of the bios, 1.538.604 and also the FBA version in Retroarch menu.
The size of the bios is 1,048,576 bytes. Where is the FBA Version in the Retroarch menu?
@granderjoree
On the first page down ,Hotkey +B after game start.
I figured it out! Thanks to @Dragu by pointing me at the right direction of changing to different neogeo bios, I was able to play Metal Slug on FBA Libretro with a working Joystick. Thanks @Dragu!
Right now I'm thinking of transferring all of my NeoGeo games from my NeoGeo folder to my FBA Libretro folder.
Thanks guys!
go game options in emulationstation menu and change by fba libretro core emulator
