How to backup my own original PSX discs right ? (Some already works , some not. Why ?) Please help

Hi Guys !

i have a problem on backup/ripping my original psx cds. Is it normal that it works on some cds and others do not work ?
for example i can rip my wipeout original cd and it runs perfectly on emulator in recalbox. But if i rip my tekken 3 cd it dont work !

the line with which iam ripping is:
GAMENAME="Tekken 3"; cdrdao read-cd --read-raw --datafile "$GAMENAME.bin" --device /dev/sr0 --driver generic-mmc-raw "$GAMENAME.cue"

My 2 questions are:
1.can i enable a log file for the emulator to see whats going on ? (login per ssh and tailing the log)
2.do i have to rip with some special parameters someone here know ?

Hint: I really do not want to download every game i already own because iam not able to rip/backup it. Simply for reasons of do no piracy and because i already own 100+ good games in original

It's not piracy if you own them. Besides, as your post shows it, it is really a waste of time and making yourself your life too difficult...

I think absolutely no one here rips his own games, especially not with command line on linux

Ok but for reasons of understanding, someone have to rip a cd first or not and i think especial the developers of recalbox were use linux or not ?

the problem is if i want to download the tekken3 iso, i become an 7z with one bin file, 3 "ape" files have to convert it back and so on. thats why i do NOT want make my life difficult. I agree i can download the iso so give me a hint where to find a version were i can find bin/cue download and not bin/apes version without cue and so on oder ecm arrrggg

or a good tutorial how to get an normal iso from these awful compressed, packed stuff in the internet

if you google "psx isos" you get a result with some sites, where you can find downloads (i hope this hint is not illegal ^^).
unfortunately you have to visit each site and download/uncompress the files, to see if there are plain bin/cue files in it (sometimes there is "bin.ecm" file, that you have to "unecm" first).

i would also prefer to "backup" own original psx-discs.
that is why i would also like to know, if there is a way to do this and what is the best way, that at the end you have working bin/cue files.

This is forbidden by the forum rules

@robert-bude but you can download the tool PakkISO which decompress your game all by himself
Once installed, just right click the folder where your 7z and ape are and choose unpakk or something like that

You can also use ECM tools and especially unecem to decompress ecm files

Thx for the hint to PakkISO ! i can now reproduce a real bin/cue image but also only with the lost bin/cues archive found on google

So now i have hope.

Further investigations points me to an article of describing backing up original psx discs, so i will give this a try and will post my results tomorrow here.
