[4.1-Unstable] Update Manualy - Servers offs

Hello, i here to ask how to Update manualy Recalbox, i need to update it the more soon as i can. Because im going to gift my causins a console with Recalbox

I tryed with /recalbox/scripts/recalbox-upgrade.sh

But not works too...

Hello,

The devs are currently working on the release of stable 4.1. Due to this the servers are down.

What happens now is that there are so many recalbox connected to our servers asking for updates that we cannot just "migrate to a new server". The recalbox Team are revisiting the whole way to update the system, using DNS round robin, canary deployment and more. Because of the 4000 recalbox asking for 150 mo makes 600 000 gb to serve instantly when the Team release stable, and a bit less when we release unstable

And this is what the recalbox Team are working on. And this is what the recalbox Team are going to achieve soon.

Next time please use first the "search" function, then you would have know that the servers are down

And crashed my Recalbox version

Y have 1gb

(I get installed Libreelec - Recalbox - Raspibian)

I was finishing configuring recalbox, theres anyway to update or fix my recalbox installation?

I know people are frustrated with the non availability of 4.1, but it's for a good sake we're setting up everything to be ready for the D day, we hope we won't have to make all of you wait too long we're very confident this 4.1 will be a blast ^^

Theres any way to fix my installation? I dont want to install all the system again, it takes me too much time!

install a 4.0.2 and once 4.1 stable release available, your friend will receive a notification to upgrade on 4.1

Do you think to launch 4.1, first days it will be available, in torrent?

@jesús-bl 4.1 will be available as a regular update and as a stand alone on github.

@substring OK, I give you this idea to help to download the new version first days.
We all start downloading the new version as soon as it will be available and server may be saturated.

@jesús-bl we've already thought about this. But this would require you to move the files by yourself on your recalbox. That's not something we expect users to do. The "real" interesting thing would be that recalbox's seed the update. But this can't be done in 4.0 nor in 4.1. Would take too much time to set all this up

@substring yeah but there a handfull of people who will not care installing from scratch the 4.1 version and this could releave the server's charge a lot.

This could also be a solution for the current unavailability of the latest unstable
