I bet I am posting this in the wrong section. Anyway I am trying to set a config specific to an emulator. I have read the manual and can get to the retroarch menu and make changes and also save the config file. I have even found where the file is saved. But I cannot make the recalbox config use these settings. Any ideas. What information is required?

@Pepe thanks I have read this and tried it. No luck so I must be typing it in wrong. Does the first bit need to match the core name exactly? Or is it just a reference?
@mayhem2017 Must match the name of the rom folder of system you want to use own config file.
@Pepe aha that makes sense. You are a star thank you. I will try it out
The basic idea is :
snes.configfile=/recalbox/share/system/configs/retroarch/_thefilewemebtionnedjustabove.cfg_
if you're editing for snesIf you just need to remap pads, no need to go that far, just use core remaps
@Substring I actually only have issues on a couple of games. The keys are all messed up. I'll try your process but bottom line is if I can't manage it I'll just change the key bindings live when I want to play those games.
@mayhem2017 I guess these are arcade games ? Use the game remap rather
@Substring is there a tutorial on how to do the core remap option per game? Like I said if not then I'll survive!
@Substring thanks. I'll give it a try. I'm afraid too many years of windows have blunted my computing skill. But I'll try
@mayhem2017 it's a pure GUI tuto lol
@Substring yeah I get that. Once was the time I learned Visual Basic and tried c++ as a hobby. Now I'm struggling with controller mapping. Too much Sonic
