      on Recalbox wiki:

configfile : force your own configuration file to be loaded. The recalbox will not automatize emulator configuration example : snes.configfile=/path/to/my/configfile.cfg

@Pepe thanks I have read this and tried it. No luck so I must be typing it in wrong. Does the first bit need to match the core name exactly? Or is it just a reference?

@mayhem2017 Must match the name of the rom folder of system you want to use own config file.

              The basic idea is :

              • launch an emulator
              • tweaks settings
              • save (either to the default config file, either to a new file)
              • just make wirte down the filename it was saved to. If you just saved the settings, then it's retroarchcurom.cfg, otherwise it's another file
              • use a network browser, find the file rename it to what you want
              • edit recalbox.conf and add snes.configfile=/recalbox/share/system/configs/retroarch/_thefilewemebtionnedjustabove.cfg_ if you're editing for snes

If you just need to remap pads, no need to go that far, just use core remaps

@Substring I actually only have issues on a couple of games. The keys are all messed up. I'll try your process but bottom line is if I can't manage it I'll just change the key bindings live when I want to play those games.

@mayhem2017 I guess these are arcade games ? Use the game remap rather

@Substring is there a tutorial on how to do the core remap option per game? Like I said if not then I'll survive!

@Substring thanks. I'll give it a try. I'm afraid too many years of windows have blunted my computing skill. But I'll try

@Substring yeah I get that. Once was the time I learned Visual Basic and tried c++ as a hobby. Now I'm struggling with controller mapping. Too much Sonic
