I haven't been able to boot using the x86_64 image, only the x86. One other guy said the same on github. So maybe you encounter the same issue. Let us know.

I downloaded them off of Remix. Is there a different set of files I should be downloading?

Still couldn't get it to boot from USB, even specified to the laptop to look for the USB drive upon turning it on and pressing F12 (Toshiba Laptop). Strange little thing. I didn't try the 32-bit (x86) version, just the 64-bit one.

I can tell you that I boot with bios and it just jumps to windows instead of the selected USB on x86_64. x86 boots like it should.

Tried booting using BIOS, not Win10. For me, it just jumps to the OS (tried on multiple laptops and even my hacked Chromebox, just goes into Ubuntu/Win10 instead).

x86 version works just fine (tested it just now). Just the 64-bit version. Heads up.

ok, i'm just take some minutes to check why it could not work.
x86_64 computers can boot from bios or efi. i use efi on my computers,
                      but...

it's possible that i totally forgot to add bios for the x86_64 boot.
                      All apologies.
I'll fix, and propose a new build soon.

I've released an alph4 that should solve the problem.
Note that on 1 of my computer, i've still trouble to boot recalbox (the usb key is not found at boot AFTER grub is loaded (it happend with x86 and x86_64)) ; but reboot a 2nd times helps. So, please make me feedback if it works or not.

@susan33 Yup, it's working, confirmed. Can't wait until this goes live! Just curious...do you have a version that can install and transform a PC into a permanent Recalbox? Kind of like a Raspberry Pi-type deal but on a PC without an OS?

@Shockwave he hs answered on github such question ... The initramfs needs some HDD drivers (IDE but most probably S-ATA). A contributer is trying to help with that

@subs so does this mean it's also only working on a usb drive for now not on an external hdd ?

@voljega so far yes. But as I said, this may changeas it needs a little work to allow booting from HDDs. The real question would be : how to install it ? burn the img on a HDD, or add an installer in recalbox ? Up to @susan33 to decide

                                    Hi All,

I'd like to try recalbox with this x86-64 version as I don't have any raspberry.
I downloaded recalbox.img.gz from http://recalbox.remix.free.fr/4/x86_64/alpha/alpha4/ (first time 359mo, then 1.46go, I think this is the good one despite what the website show me) then I tried to write it to my usb key with Win32DiskManager, first the .img.gz, then unzip it with 7zip and write the 0.fat as well as 1.img, but nothings gives me a bootable usb stick. Can someone provide more complete procedure ?

                                    thanks a lot in advance.

Don't unzip it. Select the .gz file directly.

@botte unzip to get a .img, then use Win32DiskImager

@subs there is no need for that. You can just select *.* to see all files and choose recalbox.img.gz directly. On Windows, you usually unzip the .img.gz altogether, which isn't helpful.

thanks guys. It was actually due to wrong downloading of image! I was able to boot recalbox 64 bit 🙂 I unzipped the .img.gz and put it on usb key with win32diskimager. Works perfect
