Rotate screen and negative overscan

Is it possible to rotate the screen to be more suitable for vertically mounted screens? Also I've used overscan in config.txt to stop my output running off the edge of my screen, but I now have a letterbox effect (about 24 pixels top and bottom of black bar). All my overscan settings are at "xxx_overscan=0" - can I set top_overscan=-24 (-24) or something similar?   This forum really needs a search function

Thanks digitalLumberjack, just what I needed Thought that search button was for wordpress, not this site specifically, d'oh! Edit: Is there a way to scale the emulationstation menu better for a vertical setup?
