iBuffalo SNES USB Gamepad problems in RB 7.0x

The iBuffalo SNES Classic USB Gamepad was working out-of-the-box with Recalbox 6.0 and previous releases.
With 7.0x, we plug it and... all six buttons are OK, but the D-pad is not recognised and does not work anymore. I had to plug an USB keyboard and manually configure the gamepad to get its D-pad back.
I guess someone forgot mapping the D-pad? Is there something I can do to fix the problem myself?

My thanks to the RB team for all their efforts in putting together this great piece of software.

@jonas Yes, it seems that it is another problem, but, the post ends saying that the joystick worked, so this doesn’t seem to be a Recalbox problem, it doesn’t seem to be an incompatibility problem.
I recommend that you re-map your joystick, and test.
You inform that "Gamepad was working out-of-the-box with Recalbox 6.0 and previous releases", are you by any chance trying to take advantage of a configuration file from a previous version? If so, this is the problem.

I'm using a fresh 7.0.1 installation, nothing was imported from any 6.0. When the gamepad is plugged, RB 7.0.1 detects it and pops a message in the upper-right corner, saying it's "ready to play".
Well, it is not... Only the buttons are working in ES, but not the D-pad. The gamepad must be configured manually for 7.0.x, and then it will work fine. But for 6.0 and previous releases, it was automatically detected, 100% configured and ready to use right after being plugged. Indeed, this gamepad is listed in the compatibility list as working, which it is not exactly the case anymore.
Not a serious issue, but something is wrong or missing somewhere in the 7.0.x, configuration files, right?

today, I have the same problem with a fresh recalbox install on a pi 4B 4G and "retroflag classic usb gamepad". The direction pad doesn't work.

can you help me with a work around : can you explain me how to validate the wifi password in the recal box menu with keyboard: I cant validate with space bar in the wifi password menu.

So there are more gamepads with the same problem...
If I remember correctly, the WiFi SSID and password are stored as plain text in the recalbox.conf file. You can just edit that file directly by inserting the SD card in any PC to get the WiFi working.
