Solved Can I still recommend Recalbox over other options?
-
I built my recalbox 2 years ago and my first retropie 4 years ago...
I loved the recalbox because of how much easier it was to setup over the retropie... but now that scraping doesn’t work out of the box... can I still recommend it as the goto solution for someone looking to get setup with ease?
I still use my recalbox but I get annoyed about the cover art because I aim for a nice beat yet easy to manage solution.

Hi,
Scraping is available directly from recalbox using the scraping fuction of Emulation Station. You can also use Skraper if you want advanced fuctionnalities such as adding videos to your scraps. I recommend with both solutions avoiding doing it on weekends.
Some other people on the forum may prefer other solutions but those are my favorites. -

@emmanuelcamden I never tested Recalbox's own scrape function but i believe it is efficient. I still use the Universal XML Scraper, it is still functional and my favorite even though it was replaced by Skraper. I once had a problem. One of the scraps was corrupted and when going over the list of games the Recalbox froze for not being able to read the game's .png image. I had to redo and replace the cover. Could someone tell me in which database does Recalbox connect to download the game covers?

Universal XML Scraper,
is out date.
use ARRM or skraper.
recalbox use screenscraper's database.
