@usman_tahir880 Sorry, I've never had this problem, just know that some people have this problem and the gnubit user's instructions on the link I sent to you are very helpful.
But, I saw that you're running the terminal through your cell phone, have you stopped the Emulationstation before?
Since you are in a laptop, why not run the terminal directly from the laptop?
https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-os/wiki/Root-access-on-terminal-(EN) -
@Zing same issue through direct access
So what you suggest should i check other laptop. -
-
As @Zing has mentioned you will need to kill emulation station first, here is another thread which might help:
-
Atleat i figure out to run kodi in full screen see screenshot.
I just accidentally press forward slash key.
I had also tried after kill emulation by pressing F4.
-
did you stop ES from root terminal from your laptop ?
/etc/init.d/S31emulationstation stop
then
xrandr
to list your displays -
@gnubit tried but same
-
I think it can be display driver issue because i had read some logs mentioned this.
HDMI1 mode not available.
-
@usman_tahir880 try the command:
DISPLAY=:0.0 xrandr -
@Zing same error can't open display

https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=867506&page=2
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Config/ResolutionI may be wrong, but from what I understand the problem is with "xorg.conf" (or its absence).
If so, these links will help:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_create_xorg.conf
https://askubuntu.com/questions/217758/how-to-make-an-xorg-conf-fileRead the information for all the links, and test the suggestions (make a backup of your image before, by security).
I do not have this problem, and I'm not a programmer, so I do not know the exact answer to your problem. So it is best that you test the options we are showing you, and give us feedback (positive or negative). -
I have checked on other laptop same error coming.
Cant open display
Please helppp. -
@usman_tahir880 Did you read the links I posted ?? Have you tried the commands that the links suggest ??
-
@Zing Yes i have read but no luck
-
@usman_tahir880 Say everything you tried and what the result of each command, otherwise it is impossible to help you without knowing what happens. For example: What is the result of the "Xorg: 1 -configure" command? Have you tried this command already?
-
@Zing i run this command.
DISPLAY=:0 xrandr --listmonitors
Here is the output.
Monitors: 2
0: +eDP1 1366/310x768/170+0+0 eDP1
1: +HDMI1 1920/1600x1080/900+0+0 HDMI1 -
I edit this file .xinitrc and enter this line
xrandr --output eDP1 --off
Now ES MENU IS ON FULL SCREEN BUT GAME IS NOT WORKING.
