4-Player-Support for SNES-Games?

Hi all, Nice work! I am looking forward to upgrading my old Pi B with Retropie to Pi B2 and Recalbox OS. However, is it possible to play multiplayer-games with 4 player (excluded FBA)? Definitely want to play games like Nintendo World Cup (NES) or various Bomberman (SNES) with 3 friends. Thanks!

For SNES it is possible to play with 3 or 4 players (Super Bomberman for example). To enable multitap in snes9x emulator (standard emulator for snes in recalbox is pocketsnes i think, and so you first have to switch the emulator. See here, how that works -> link) you have to do the following steps: 1) edit retroarch.cfg (/etc), the line # input_libretro_device_p2? « 227 », so that the line looks like this: input_libretro_device_p2 = « 257 » (delete hashtag # at the beginning of the line!) 2) Start any SNES Game and press Hotkey + B (on PS3-Controller it is X) to get into retroarch-Menu and then go to/change the following settings: Setting > General Setting > Configuration Save On Exit : ON Setting > Input Setting > User 2 Device Type > Multitap 3) Quit RetroArch

Hi all, Just to be sure, for SNES 4-Players are supported (via Snes9x and instruction above), but FCEUNext (NES) is only working for 2 Player ?

Hi all, My Recalbox is now working (with 4 player support for snes) just fine in about 2 hours work. Thanks a lot! However I am not able to get 4 players for nes working. Tried Nestopia and fceunext, but neither worked for me. Was someone from you guys able to make that work? I came across 2 topics for nestopia and 4 player support and am still working on it: http://libretro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3164 https://github.com/rdanbrook/nestopia/issues/146 Any information would be appreciated!
