I think I was just mistaken and the emulator core is MAME 0.230, however it always just shows Mame 2003 Plus as the default core when you go to edit a games information. I'm not sure if this is intentional but that is what confused me. When I actually launch a game and hit tab and go to About Mame it shows version 0.230.

I downloaded the image from the recalbox website and flashed using the Raspberry Pi Imager for Windows.
This was a fresh install.

Whenever I click on a rom and go to edit menu of the rom it always shows Mame 2003 Plus as the default emulator.

I have a complete Mame 0.230 set and am running Recalbox with a decently powerful X86_64 PC. I'd like to use the Libretro Mame version as it supports the 0.230 set. However games keep launching with Mame2003 Plus.

I have tried the following without luck:

• Create a folder named mame under /recalbox/share/roms/mame/

  • Place all the rom files under /recalbox/share/roms/mame/mame/
  • create a file name .recalbox.conf within /recalbox/share/roms/mame/mame/
    • add the following lines to that file:
    • mame.emulator=libretro
    • mame.core=mame

  .

• Edit recalbox.conf through the web browser configure tool

  • add the following lines:
    • mame.emulator=libretro
    • mame.core=mame

.

• Edit Advanced emulator configuration and change the default emulator from Mame 2003 Plus to Mame

.

Even after all these changes games keep launching with Mame 2003 Plus. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is there a method to installing recalbox to a NVME SSD? I can't use etcher to do so and I was wondering if there is another method via a linux live CD or something similar. Thanks!

@bkg2k Can't I enable a unique retroarch config per emulator in recalbox.conf and then just edit the retroarch config?

@bkg2k any way I can fix this manually in the interim?

I noticed my first bug today. I'm on February's Beta and when I try to force an aspect ratio of 5/4 in recalbox's config retro arch gets set to an aspect ration of 9/16. I can't even manually set it in recalbox.conf.

My device is a 3B+.

I tried that and the ROMs were recreated but not the included box art.

I'm going to try remounting root as read write and see if that works.

I'm running Recalbox beta (but I don't think this is a beta related problem). I want to remove the default included roms from the image. Everytime I delete the included folders from the \recalbox\share\roms the games get auto generated back. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!
