I might try formatting it differently and see if that helps. Think it was NTFS but not sure. Most games are pre-scraped and I had the same on the other drive. I'll have a mess about and see what works quickest

RE: Shutdown/Reboot times when using External Storage
Pretty sure the drive is working. It did the same when I was using a different external hard drive. It's my guess it's doing some extra task when shutting down (e.g. saving scrapes or updating ROM profiles) but would be interested to find out why it takes so long.

Shutdown/Reboot times when using External Storage
Hello all, I am the proud owner of a 314GB PiDrive which is working lovely. I have a lot of ROMs on the drive and noticed, as one would expect, the boot times to increase the more you have. However, rebooting takes an absolute age especially if I add my full collection of NES and Spectrum ROMs. With about 2000 ROMs it's taking a good 5 - 10 minutes to reboot and wondering if there is any way to speed this up. Unplugging the power doesn't appear to cause any issues but I'd rather not resort to this. Any suggestions?

RE: [BATCH] Scrape your roms on your PC - fastscraper
Works great. I've been playing with various tools (including the batch files I created many moons ago) and like the simplicity of this one.

N64 - Mario Party 2 & 3
I'm able to get both games to load fine on Recalbox v4.0 beta 2, however, when you start playing the game the 'board' is in the wrong place and the game doesn't render correctly. Ironically the original Mario Party for the N64 works fine. Has anyone else managed to get Mario Party 2 & 3 to work correctly?

RE: Recalbox 4.0 beta 2\. MAME, SCUMMVM, & NEOGEO
That explains why it was working previously. I've been putting my ROMs in sub-folders and using a bare minimum of BIOS files. Many thanks!

Recalbox 4.0 beta 2\. MAME, SCUMMVM, & NEOGEO
I usually use FBA on Recalbox and very happy with the performance. There are quite a few ROMs which don't work but that hasn't bothered me. However, with exception of 'Track 'n Field' none of the MAME ROMs are working, NEOGEO is extremely hit and miss, and SCUMMVM doesn't even show on Recalbox main screen even when there is a valid file in the directory (Curse of Monkey Island). I've got the right BIOS files (according to the web interface) so wondering if anyone has any advice on getting MAME, SCUMMVM, and NEOGEO to work. Are there some additional BIOS files I need to obtain or general advice which may help? Cheers.

RE: Recalbox 4.0.0 beta 2 manual overclock on RPi 3 ?
You can overclock via the configuration (hold shift when booting) and there are many examples out there where the cpu_free can be increased a little and the sdram freq upped to 500. These settings work well. If I remember correctly there is a config file somewhere where you can predefine an overclock setting ( currently set as 'none') I'll have a play and tell you what works well setting wise and where the configuration file is.

RE: [Solved][4.0.0-beta2] [Raspberry Pi 3] HDD as external storage device not stable
I have replicated this issue using a Western Digital 1TB drive. This is my experience. 1) Sometimes it wouldn't look at the drive for the ROMs and reverted to the SD card. 2) The drive became corrupted and couldn't be read by my PC (used a 'chkdsk' to resolve). I think this was caused by Kodi to be honest. 3) Kodi experienced serious issues with addons when using the drive 'before' installing addons. It's best to do all the Kodi stuff on the SD card so it copies it to the drive. What I did like is the settings for Kodi and Recalbox are stored on the external drive so I can move it between Raspberry Pis and have the same settings. I haven't tried any other eternal hard drive, however, I am hoping to have one of those PiDrives and will test with that. I feel it will work a lot better.

RE: [SOLVED - almost] Recalbox Berryboot Image
I think the issue is to do with where the system saves/looks for the system config file. On the SD card there is now a separate partition for 'boot' and this is where it's failing. I think all that needs to be done is to move/create the folders into the same image and it will work. Will continue investigating.

Kodi 15.2 (Recalbox 4.0)- Crashes/Freezes
Is anyone else experiencing issues with Kodi 15.2? I've tried this on both my RPi2 and RPi3 and both appear to freeze up randomly. I will continue testing to see if I can replicate. (may have something to do with automatic plugin updates)

RE: [SOLVED - almost] Recalbox Berryboot Image
I've cracked it (almost). It works until you try to change any system settings. But Kodi appears to work and I can run games. Here's what I did to create a working Berryboot image. 1) I installed the latest version of Recalbox onto an 8GB card and booted it. 2) Then I put the card into my PC and used Win32DiskImager to create a backup of the whole card 3) Then I booted into Linux (Ubuntu) Virtual machine 4) Copied the image to the desktop. 5) Followed the instructions here: http://www.berryterminal.com/doku.php/berryboot/adding_custom_distributions Note: When I did this it was 'loop0p7' which was the right partition I found this out as it was the only partition which didn't error on step 3 (fstab) 6) Copied the image back to to a USB drive and installed. http://www.mediafire.com/download/5cczg77cvprd3r7/recalbox4beta2-v1.img

RE: [SOLVED - almost] Recalbox Berryboot Image
Thanks digitalLumberjack. Just playing about with the Rasberry Pi 3 which works great with Berryboot (Ubuntu and OpenElec) but I'm so used to using Recalbox I'm not that keen on Retropie (laughs). I will keep trying and see if I can get it working. Keep up the excellent work.

[SOLVED - almost] Recalbox Berryboot Image
Has anyone successfully made a Berry boot image of Recalbox? I'm trying to do it myself but no luck so far.

RE: Raspberry PI 3
Mine's on it's way. Will be interesting to see what does and doesn't work. That little bit of speed boost on PSX games and Kodi will be nice though.

RE: OFFICIAL RECALBOX THEME - WE NEED YOU
Odyessy 2 is going to be a tough one! There isn't any music I can find. The two themes I have, 'fanart' and 'clean', are being worked on to include the new systems. If anyone would like I have managed to find a picture of the Odyessy 2 controller and have cleaned it up to make something which could be converted into svg. You are welcome to use it.

RE: OFFICIAL RECALBOX THEME - WE NEED YOU
My favourite title music on the ZX Spectrum was the one from Vixen. So I'm going to use that on my theme with something like this. (Was thinking Jet-Set Willy of course but that will require more work) Music here. What do you think? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FToXFlYAUDE

Permanently pairing bluetooth keyboard
Is it possible to permanently pair a bluetooth keyboard maybe somewhere in the config file?

RE: OFFICIAL RECALBOX THEME - WE NEED YOU
I now have a working version of 4.0. Very very nice and works well. It's about time I updated my two themes to include the new emulators.

RE: 64GB install?
On my Windows PC I used 'MiniTool Partition Wizard' to create a 'Primary' FAT32 partition and this worked for me. If it's not primary it won't install.
