solved it... for all people with the same problem... go to recalbox\share\system... edit the config by changing global.ratio to 4/3 .
then restart your recalbox, after you have saved your config of course... now it works fine.

i was able to center the picture with

1. starting a game
2. opening retroarch options
3. going to main menu
4. change aspect ratio from custom to core provided

then, the game works centered... but saving the configuration in the main menu of retroarch doesnt help so that i have to do the steps above each time i start a game...

how do you save the aspect ratio setting for ALL systems that use retroarch?

i know it says "don't report it is not a bug" but on two recalbox systems (rp3 and rp4) the game does not work on the rp3 anymore. i tried the exact rom that works on rp4 or some other roms but it is always the same error.
any clue what i have to change or do? thank you

hello. as you can see, my games (no matter if snes, neogeo, ...) are shown with the bezels but the picture of the game is too large and misplaced. i guess it is a bezel problem because...

another problem is that N64 has no bezels anymore but the picture is centered and in the right size.

do i have to update my bezels to 8.1.1. somehow? before the update, everything worked fine.

Hello. Has anybody managed to play TH Strikes Back (thoop2) on Recalbox?
I got the message coprocessor bad, which seems a common error for this game but people say it should work on newer mame-versions. which mame version does recalbox have? obviously mame2003 is too old.

@pitch64 my fault, i had to update recalbox first. but now i am missing the bios... i am using a raspberry pi 4.

hello. I wanted to know where to put the rom of hotel mario in order to show up on recalbox. i can have the rom in chd format, or bin/cue (within a zip file)... i would try both but there is no cd-i folder on my recalbox. can anyone help?

why did i update? fb-neo games (street fighter 3, ...) crash occasionally, or don't boot (black screen, have to pull the plug)...

everything worked perfectly before.

can someone help? if the solution is to install everything from scratch i will never ever update anything again!

anyone tried Dolphin Blue on recalbox? i cannot manage to play the game. doesnt work on mame/fb neo... anyone can help or is it impossible at the moment?

I tried everything you mentioned and ended up trying another OS (don't want to advertise others than Recalbox so no name as long as you don't ask).

I have zero issues with games, although i prefer recalbox in general. I still use recalbox for my arcade machine but will stick to the other OS for the living room, where we mainly use the Pi for KODI.

and a HUGE SURPRISE... the CEC Adapter works fine now with the other OS. I never managed to get my remote working with KODI/Raspberry Pi4/Recalbox. But now, it works out of the box, without any tweaks. just plug and play.

So I am happy with Recalbox in my arcade cabinet and another OS in the living room for KODI.

@zing First of all - thank you for your reply but you are practically telling me that this is a problem of the SD Card... so i tried to repair etc... no change.

So I bought a new SD Card.

Fresh install of Recalbox. Scraped my movies and TV Series in Kodi. Added some roms and scraped them. Restart worked, so I shut down everything at night and tried the next day.

ES or Kodi doesn't start at all again. I get the splash screen (without sound) and then It stops at the black screen with the pacman ghosts...

So before I throw my raspberri pi 4 against a wall (or switch to retropie or something else)... could you please tell me what is going wrong here (as far as you can)?!

Here it stops while my other rasp4 with same configuration works fine and has more info in the log file.

@zing wait wait wait, i DID a factory reset after I wasn't able to fix all issues. I updated via the recalbox-menu.

RETURNING FROM KODI TO RECALBOX MAKES THE MUSIC VERY LOUD.

You solve this by lowering the volume, in my case from 50% to 49% and back to 50% again.

I hope there is a fix soon because i switch between kodi and recalbox quite often.

BUG REPORT: coming back from KODI, recalbox-menu-music is VERY LOUD. You have to lower the volume 1% and put it up again in order to have the normal volume. could that be fixed by me or should I wait for an update?

yeah it dissappeared from the menu. i am opening recalbox manager through the browser and there, i stop ES.
then i use the windows explorer to open the rom folder on my raspberry pi - there i edit out the games from the gamelist in the rom folder.

Then save the file.

Then start ES through Recalbox Manager again. done.

complicated but it works.
