    • RE: inputautocfg.ini

      thanks again.

i'm using the same ROMs i used for version 6.0. They loaded fine with default emulator.

i had to do a rebuild to upgrade to version 7.1.1 and now when i load the ROMs in default emeulator there are major video and sound issues.

files are .n64 and .z64 and are from no-intro romset.

also tried different ROMs to make sure - same result.

ROMs work fine in libretro mupen - but i don't know how to remap the controller in RA.

    • RE: inputautocfg.ini

@Zing thanks Zing. It was user error.
I've remapped the controls in the autocfg file.
I've removed the n64.flatfolder and replaced with n64.configfile=dummy.

When I load a Rom no controls work. I'm running the libretro mupen64plus emulator if that matters?

The autocfg file still has the changes after reboot and if i put the flatfolder line back in the changes dont take effect. What am i missing?

    • inputautocfg.ini

trying to edit input cfg file for N64 controller.

cannot gain access via puTTy as it says permission denied.

      tried 'mount -o remount,rw /'

      followed by '/recalbox/share/configs/mupen64/InputAutoCfg.ini'

i know what I have to do once i'm it - i just can't get in it!

      i'm going round in circles.

      thanks in advance.

    • RE: connection and updates

      thanks guys, appreciate the response.

      clean reinstall complete.

i'm a real novice at all this - i apologise.

i've added my ROMs back on but lost my scraped images. trying to use the in built scraper, it scrolls through the ROMs and identifies them, but doesn't pull the image. error at the end advising issue with download.

xu4 is connected via ethernet to router and network settings shows 'connected'.

i've tried using ARRM too via desktop, but even though the desktop picks up RECALBOX on the network, ARRM doesn't seem to. i type in the route directory manually, and ARRM does pick up the ROMs but the images don't pull through.

    • universal xml scraper

Hi there, I get a 'fatal error; unable to connect to database' when installing UXS.

is this a known issue or a problem with my settings?

      thanks.

    • connection and updates

      running recalbox 6.1.1
      on odroid xu4

I'm trying to update to the latest version. ON-line guide suggests menu - updates - start update, but I don't seem to have the option to 'start update' as mentioned in the help.

So i thought it might be my connection. I'm connected to router via ethernet cable, but the network status in 'not connected' - i've checked my passwords etc and added them a few times.

what am i doing wrong? many thanks.

    • Dreamcast roms/scraping

      Running 6.1.1 on Odroid xu4

Dreamcast roms are .gdi with 3 .bin files track 1, 2 and 3.

The only way I could get them to work was to place all 4 files in a folder and folder into the dreamcast rom folder.

Games work fine, however, when scraping, the images attach to the .gdi, not the folder - so I have to enter the folder first, which then takes me to the game and the scraped image.

Is there an easy fix for this?

    • RE: neo-geo and mame

I formatted my SD card, flashed recalbox onto it again, added my roms (without scraped images), and neo-geo is working again fine.

Is there anyway scraping the images caused this? It seemed to change the metadata - it's just I'm fearful of scraping for images now in case it happens again.

I realise this is a pretty lame/vague problem - apologies.

    • RE: neo-geo and mame

@acris said in neo-geo and mame:

      Hello

Emulationstation Menu > sound options > enable other option not auto , and try.

thanks - checked that and already using the 'non-auto option'.

    • neo-geo and mame

Both neo-geo and mame were running fine with sound. After scraping with universal XML scraper there was no sound and slow. Removed roms, gamefiles and images - added the roms back on and still the same, loading and playable but no sound and slow. Any advice please?

    • RE: n64 controller configuration

@acris brilliant, i missed that step because I couldn't see the file to change, it's right at the bottom - change the n64.flatfolder=0 to n64.configfile=dummy.

Thank you so much - I appreciate that must have been frustrating - these things are so difficult when you don't have a clue.

    • RE: n64 controller configuration

@acris thank you so much for the help. I've downloaded puTTy, accessed the files, changed them to the correct config for my controller after testing all the buttons, saved, checked they've changed in file manager, rebooted odroid, config files still as I've changed in file manager and puTTy. Load a ROM and changes haven't taken effect.

Look back in config file in file manager and puTTy and they've changed back.

So it seems loading a ROM reverts my changes, any ideas please?

    • RE: n64 controller configuration

@burts_19 ok - so I've managed to find the mupen64plus.txt file - I've edited it according to the suggestions in the github, however, as that mentions at the start it's read only - I'm editing the file in notepad, on a laptop connected over a network - so the advise offered on github to make the file read/write doesn't seem to apply (or make sense to me).

Please let me know if I can edit the file this way and/or direct me to where I can.

    • n64 controller configuration

I have read the main post on this several times, it means nothing to me I'm afraid. The GUI mapping isn't quite right (z trigger missing for example) and although there is a certain amount auto config'd there are buttons missing and it's not exact. The link below is the one i assume will get things working correctly, but as I say, afraid I cannot fathom where to begin - if someone could provide a very basic guide/link to one that would be great. Thanks in advance.

@Scavy one final thing, any advice on mapping N64 controller. Tried to load retroarch with hotkey and B, it doesn't come up. The advice on the forum doesn't make much sense to me. Not quite sure how to get to the files I need to change etc.

    • RE: N64 ROMs and BIOS

@Scavy Thank you for the help. I started again, unzipped the files and added into ROM folder, that worked and I'm up and running.

One more quick question if you have the time? Dreamcast, sega CD and GAMECUBE - do they require additional BIOS?

Many thanks again for your time and efforts.

    • N64 ROMs and BIOS

      Hi There.

Running recalbox 6.1.1 on Odroid Xu 4.

I have N64 ROMs in .zip format that show up in the menu after restart, when i select a game it doesn't load, just goes back to the menu.

I assume in need a BIOS??? Which is where I think i'm struggling.

What is the correct file name and format of the BIOS? Looked all over online, youtube etc.

Should the ROMs be .zip or something else? Should i unzip them before adding to SD card?

Any and all advice welcome as I seem to be in an infinite loop.

      Many thanks.
