Mega Drive six button usb issue
-
Hi, everyone! I am with a issue I could not solve by myself. I bought a mega drive/genesis style usb joypad, six buttons layout (without mode). Ok, when I configure the inputs via emulation station, there are not a free button for "select" neither for "hotkey". I just press down on keyboard and let these keys without configuration. BUT, when in game, the button B opens the emulator menu, like it was a combo "hotkey + x (B)". Anyone knows a way to correct this?

Hummm can't do miracles, those gamepads aren't adapted in this usage.
You can use it on player 2 (only player 1 can use hotkey's based features) or sacrifice a button to map hotkey. You could use a custom mapping without hotkey, but you'll have anymore way to quit easily the game.

Yep, you're right... If there where a way to configure hotkey and select buttons on keyboard...

@WSP77 did you try to exit with esc on the keyboard ? It works on some emulators but not all of them maybe ...

hummm if there is no hotkey button defined on the gamepad, each button will send the "shortcut action" affected (start = exit, a reset etc...).
So he won't be able to use a standard automatic config, and will need to use a custom config.
Look at this wiki : https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-os/wiki/How-to-use-custom-config-for-emulators-(EN)Search on forum to, other users may have had this kind of issue too with those controllers.
