Tron rom loads but can't insert coin nor tab for mame menu

i have a 0.78 rom set, and there are 2 files for tron , tron.zip and tron2.zip , all other roms work fine. for some reason when tron loads my buttons don't work at all , can't insert coin. i hit tab for mame emulator menu and nothing happens. i can hit escape and it quits and i can use my hotkey combo and it exits the emulator.

anyone else see this or have a solution? i love tron it was one of my favs.

Tron, Journey, Tapper and Satan's Hollow (maybe a few more) have this problem with Mame 2000 or Mame 2003 cores. The only way to get around this is to use Mame 2010 core instead which fixes the problem.
