8 bitdo ultimate raspberry pi 5

i can connect the controller to the pi but when i try to configure it.
it says no gamepads detected.
am i doing something wrong?
using recalbox 9.2 experimental

Same exact problem and specs here. The device will pair with my pi5, but nothing other than the pairing window can see it.

The really crazy part is that using to dongle won't fix it...

You need to put the 8bitdo Ultimate controllers into Linux mode before they will work with Recalbox. If it's a wired version, you do that by holding down the B button when you plug it in. If it's the wireless version, I believe you hold down home and B. The instructions for switching modes are in the little manual that came in the box.
