Wiring arcade controls to recalbox
-
Hello everyone. Im building a bartop with Pi3 and the fab Recalbox I have an ipac 2 and have been trying to wire it to the Pi3. It uses a USB interface. I can map all the buttons and joysticks fine but when I launch a game, it wont recognise the button I mapped to START. I researched this forum and understand that ipac 2 is a keyboard and recalbox doesnt support it. So further reading I understand I can wire the buttons and joysticks directly to the Pi3. That is fine and I have found a diagram somewhere on this forum for wiring. However my question is this : With the kit that I bought (which included the ipac) the wire ends are crimped one end and the other have plastic covers over the pins that connect to the board. Some of these pins are in blocks of 4 ! So there are 4 wires molded together - but on the recalbox diagram I notice that UP and DOWN joystick have 2 pins in between meaning I cannot use the block of 4 connectors. What shall I do ? Can I modify the wires I have or should i buy some single connector wires?

Done some more research and have discovered that the joystick set i bought (ultracabs in UK) are Xin Mo controls. This page describes how they should be wired : https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-os/wiki/Xin-mo-(EN)
