Anyone own a Odroid C2? Any good?
-
With all this talk of Pi4, something reminded me of the Odroid C2 again. A while back i was set on trying one but they were all sold out on amazon. Now i'm revisting it again as it seems like an equivilent to the 2GB version of the Pi4 (1.5Ghz CPU, 2GB Ram, etc). But how well does Recalbox work with it? Does it run dreamcast well? Lastly, does it fit all the same cases as the Pi3? It seems to be a clone in terms of shape & ports location.

@skullgrin There is no good reason to get this one, XU4 or pi4 is a much better choice, C2 doesn't bring anything interesting to the table... dreamcast won't run good on this. pi4 is not equivalent as its architecture is more recent, it should be much more powerfull
and in addition there are really very few people having it, so support is likely to be a bit more buggy on recalbox than other platforms

Really? I thought about the Odroid Xu4 but heard it has overheating problems. From what i've read of the C2, it's handles heat a lot better.

@skullgrin the xu4 with fan doesn't have overheating problem, the one with heatsink yes. however some od batches had not very good quality where the unit would cease to work
the c2 is just not very interesting regaring its perfomance, it hasn't a difference big enough from a pi to justify choosing it over the raspbery
