      Guys, what should I do? Playing N64 games is a nightmare. Sound statters, games lag, everything's terribly slow...

        @pokey you should give us more information about your setup.
        Do you see a lightning symbol?
        Have you tried turning on the gaming mode of your tv?
        Does it happen in every game, all the time?

          @paradadf you are right.

          Pi3 running at 1200, no overclocking, latest Recalbox.
          I have tied two different emulators, different cores.
          No lighting symbol. What would that mean?
          It's not TV related - sound stutters the most.
          It has happened ever since in every N64 game. Whenever there is 3D rendering it goes nuts.

          Should I install it all again?

            @pokey a lightning symbol means your power supply isn’t delivering the current/voltage needed.

            When the cpu gets too hot, lets say your enclosure has bad ventilation, slow down happen. A clean installation might solved the problems if something got corrupted. A bad sd card can also be the cause.

              I don't think poor ventilation is a problem. It occurs no matter how long I use the device. What do you mean by bad SD card?

                @pokey if you bought/got a bad quality SD Card, you’ll get problems.

                  OK, so what SD cards are recommended? I guess read/write speed is crucial, right?

                    @pokey there is a compatibility list in the wiki. But I don’t want to tell you to buy a new card and you are gonna blame me if the new one doesn’t work either. There are software tools to test sd cards. And you should more or less have an idea looking at the sd card brand. Ultra high speed sd card won’t be used at full potential in a rpi though. About 20-25 MB/s is the limit afaik.

                      if recalbox still runs slower on the n64 games you could try installing it on a pc 32 bit or 64 bit.
                      32 bit pc's are built before 2010 and64 bit pc's are built after 2010. you can go to the download link here for dragoblaze 32 bit/64 bit. https://archive.recalbox.com/ i have installed it on my pc using the 64 bit version and runs n64 games alot nicer but still lags at times using a clean 4gb of ram. if this doesn't solve your problen you can go to my page about running n64 games on recalbox.
