Unplugging controller to get it to work in ES and retroarch
-
Hello im really looking for some help I have scoured the internet trying to figure this out, I have a dual usb arcade stick I can get the controller to work but have to unplug the arcade stick and plug it back into the usb port when i enter the emulator/game and exiting into emulation station have to do the same and sometimes it doesnt even work. My ps4 controller is hooked up through usb as i have a pi 3 that does not have bluetooth, The ps4 works .
Any clue, what might be wrong. i have tried everything, except configure the Es_input which i dont know how to do .. i have used putty and F4 jus dont know the commands.any help would be great i have tiredlessly tried configuring this for the last week. My arcade stick is recognized as two serperate controllers (ps3/PC) any help would be great.

Except if yours is broken, this doesn't exist. Or this is a Pi2.
What is the usb board / controller used in your arcade stick ? Or the model of it ?
Did you configure controls mapping in EmulationStation ?

Im sorry it does have bluetooth dont know what i was thinking.
I did map it out in emulationstation.
My arcade stick is a pandora box arcade stick with usb 2.0. seen here

@bizmoan hmmm I suppose you plug the original device directly to your tv through HDMI or how does it work ?
There is also an USB ouput ? (single one I suppose)
-
Yes through my hdmi tv . there is two usb on the arcade stick and 3 on my tv. is that what you meant?
-
@bizmoan yes, so you can plug this device with the usb ouput on a pc or ps4 to use it just as a joystick ?
Is there one usb ouput for each player or the two ouput each connects the two players ?
-
there is one usb output for the dual arcade stick. 2 sticks one usb. recalbox recognizes them as 0-ps3/pc and 1-ps3/pc something like that
-
@bizmoan ok so if you try to mp both controler in Emukation Station do you manage to map correctiy all buttons and directions ?
-
yes everything is mapped out properly.
-
@bizmoan hmmm pretty strange then, maybe you messed up something in retroarch menu ?
Can you make a support archive through the recalbox web manager ?
-
how do i do that?
-
yes i will do that when i get home.

update, I spent so many hours prior to this post to try to figure it out. Im knowledge of run command and programming is very limited that i ended up trying something different and using the gpio pin from the rasperri pi and connected my arcade stick that way. I made sure to write down where everythings went jus incase it didnt work. I did the first player and got the arcade stick to work after enabling gpio in web manager. I still would love to know what is wrong but i assume at this point its to late create a support archive, thanks for the help to all.

@bizmoan if it works that way it's cool anyway
Nd it might be better if you decide to mod the joystick or buttons later
