Mouse / trackball recognition

Hello,
I have the 18.07.13 version of recalbox (the last one). I tried to attach a Microsoft Comfort Mouse 4500. This is only recognized if I start games dos (dosbox), while from the mame2003 is not recognized.
While if I attack a Kensington orbit opt trackball, it is recognized by both the mame2003 then the dosbox.

Why?
