Hello, I want to congratulate the creator of this theme. for me one of the best I've ever seen.
as it wanted systems like CPS1, CPS2, CPS3, CHANEL F, TURBO GRAFX16 AND ATARI5200 and unfortunately these did not have. I took the liberty of doing those backgrounds.

I hope you keep working on thema, because it really is one of the best I've ever seen for recalbox.

one thing that would be cool was instead of the information being fixed in BG, could be tags in xml. hence each person would adapt to their language.

The thing with recalbox more system you want to include more video memory it will use...Its nice to separate as much as everybody want (like msx,msx2,msx turbo...) and have a nice theme for all but after a while I think we have to shrink in one category what we can that is why we have only FBA for cps 123 games. But this theme we built was a start for an open theme you can edit by yourself with the free programs I included) just for people that like the organisation of the theme (box of some important games (its different for everybody and different depending on the country you are from !), some info of the system (again its subjective and localized...),the picture of the system(many country = many different pics...) and the music we like that goes with one game with the box pic and a screenshot (when it is possible because some system have not really music for game !) and again this is very subjectiv....
Well universal theme doesn't exist because of all these differents facts I listed but anybody can change whatever he wants with some time and a little bit of effort...I agree about having an xml file we can edit its a good idea but how to do it correctly...
I have to say we built this theme because we thought the others ones were good but were lacking some cohesion and a "soul"
The soul was the part AirDream work a lot onto because he was more a console guy and for me I grew up with msx, intelivision (i'm still waiting for a better implementation with analog control of the emulator to play my all time intelivision favorite game Disc of tron ! that is for now not really playable with a game pad or I don't know how to do it...) atari st and amiga
By the way nice theme you made Its lacking the shadows (it give some depths) on the pics (did you use your own program or the one I included with the theme ?) Is atari 5200 and channel F compatible with recalbox ???

everything was done amateurally in a 3D paint. so I did not add shade or anything, but it serves as an idea for you in the future to continue with the project and do for those systems.

I took advantage of its past themes folders: fba_libretro was copied to CPS 1 2 E 3, Atari 7800 to atari 5200. only the chanel F that looked for a different wallpaper,

mrseguin Today the Christmas beta version of the recalbox contains those 5200 and chanel F systems and is normally running.

I just made these backgrounds to fill a shortage that for me from cps 1 2 and 3 that I really like them apart.
as I also have separate roms from pc engine (japan) and eturbo grafx (usa) I added as well.

the most problematic is to find SVG files, I searched a lot and those that I found in png and converted to sites or became monochrome, or the system could not read.

Have you done any specific programs with this theme? the only problem I had was to respect the edges of the carousel because they did not know where they were. in cps 1 2 and 3 the covers of the games were a little below the carousel.

Because we don't want to put too many systems because of the limited vram of the RPI I don't think we will create new theme and so separate CPS1 CPS2 .... Today because I am visiting AirDream in Japan we worked a little together on atari5200 and we have done it(bg bg2 music) (link below) and we will work later on the not yet included system that will come in beta. By the way can you give me link where its precised about the new addons systems?
As for svg I managed to convert them through Inscape(free programs I put in the beginning of the Mukashi Theme post)
I have to say it is a bit hit and miss because I don't master at all the program but I managed not really knowing how ! But this is the program to go with with svg!
Its possible some of our logo are in png in the theme because svg was a bit complicated to find or to convert.
Because we didn't download the beta of course yet we can't test it....

  I'm using it as main and it's working normally.

in my case as I use the raspberry pi3b +, I am limited to using systems like WII, 3DO, PSP and others that do not run. so I do not think I will have problems with VRAM because I do not use those systems.

I'm still thinking of neither using computer games like atari st, atari 800, commodore 64, amistrad cpc.

The only thing I think of using is my friend, because it was part of my life.

I also think about putting the Super Nintendo MSU-1.

For sure if you use only recalbox with the raspberry 3b+ I understand that there is no need to have demanding resources sytems included in the Mukashi Theme. But because recalbox is also multi platform its nice to have a theme with all sytems that the Recalbox team has chosen to inlude for compatibility reason.Like you some people do the way they like but after an update of Recalbox os you have to edit again the config files for naming llike cps1 cps2,....
By the way the link of the last Mukashi Legacy Clear (intellivision is already included but will come in 2019 is the next release of Recalbox)

J'aimerais installer ce thème sur mon raspberry pi3 B+ qui tourne avec la version beta et j'avoue que malgré mes recherches je n'ai pas encore compris comment faire... Avez-vous une procédure ?

@duduche007 Tu ouvres ta recalbox en réseau sur ton ordi, dans tes menus tu coches l'option pour faire apparaitre les dossiers cachés. Puis tu entres, sur la recalbox, dans "share"->"system"->"themes" et tu installes ton theme dans ce répertoire. C'est expliqué en détail et en un peu plus long dans les wikis

Bonjour et merci de cette réponse, mais je n'ai pas été assez précis. Au début de cette discussion sont donnés des liens qui nous amène à différents fichiers à télécharger.

Et c'est là que je m'y perd...

Au final, il n'y a que le fichier theme.xml qu'il faut mettre dans le dossier thèmes ? Cela me paraît trop simple, voilà pourquoi je demandais de l'aide.

alors tu télécharges sur ce lien tous les fichiers et tu glisses ce dossier (1 seul fichier ex Mukashi Legacy Clear) contenant plusieurs autres sous fichiers (ex 3do, amiga600, atarist etc...) dans ce dossier a cette place :

--:\recalbox\system.emulationstation\themes

a l’intérieur du fichier sur ce chemin :

--:\recalbox\system.emulationstation\themes\Mukashi Legacy Clear

tu auras donc un truc de ce genre

pour le lien du theme "Horizontal" prend celui ci qui est un lien plus récent :

Le thème Vertical (qu'on a dénommé "Fuzion") n'est qu'une ébauche en cours de réalisation, on manque de temps pour la terminer mais on abandonne pas elle finira par arriver.

Hi, thank you for this awesome theme. But, when I install it (copy the files in the themes folder) everything looks fine, but when i click on the console i want to play, everything goes black and nothing happens. I have to reset my computer to go back to recalbox.
Any ideas?

Witch version of recalbox you use?
Your bios/roms are good?
We only have tested mukashi on a RPI3 (not b+) and PC versions with the latest stable version of recalbox

@airdream Thank you for the reply. I managed to solve the problem, installed again.

But I have another one: I added NAOMI and PS2 myself, copying an existing folder (psx) and changing de name of the folder and some of the images. But I cant do the same for the DOS folder. It doesnt recognize the folder (name= dos). I dont know what to do. Im using Legacy Clear theme.

This are the ps2 and naomi emulators I did, i can upload if you like them

I like your PS2 theme, maybe it will inspire that we will propose on next update with all missing new systems include in BETA version of recalbox.
We were waiting for the latest BETA of February, it is available now so we can start to create missing themes

c'est très bon ce que tu as fait! Félicitation pour le boulot.
Il reste encore à améliorer peut être quelques détails :

• Pochette du jeu Zool 2 et Playbac à ajouter dans les jeux en haut a gauche
• ombre de la boite de l'ordinateur absente a rajouter (Thomson)
• OST des jeux qui correspondent aux screenshots a intégrer.

J'espère que @mrseguin va prochainement publier la mise a jour intégrant tous les systèmes absent de la version BETA de recalbox, je l'aiderai aussi du mieux possible

PS : Marche à l'ombre de Renaud est un jeu ! ! on en apprend tous les jours
