-
@ivwshane thanks for helping me out I do appreciate it. But I followed this and got the right bios for psx and it still didn't work could you give me a step by step are send me a link to the bios you got. Are show me how to do it.
-
@russell-biering don't ask for copyrighted content, thank you.
-
What's the name of the bios file you are using (type it exactly as it appears on your recalbox)? Also paste the md5 hash for the file you have.
Lets focus on one psx game for right now. What game are you trying to play and what file format is it in?
Does any game on any system work? What about the games that come preinstalled?
-
@ivwshane I've tried medevil and I put the rom in the rom folder and it shows up in the folder. Then I put the bios the I had it's the sch1001 bios and put it in the bios folder. I loaded it and it shows the game in list but I when I go to play the game it goes black and goes back to the menu.
-
@russell-biering what is the md5 hash
-
The md5 hash (a series of numbers) is posted in that link I posted.
Download and install this program:
http://www.winmd5.comRun the program and drag the bios file you have onto the top box of the program. It will process the file and then display a hash # and if your bios is the same as the required one then your number should match the # on the page I posted earlier.
-
@ivwshane I did all of that. What all is going in the bios folder. I put all the right bios for Sega CD in the bios folder I check the md5 hash and the ones I put in there match the ones on the wiki page and it still did work. Psx work because I change to emulators and core but it still says missing bios but it works so what am I doing wrong
-
I'm not sure how it can work but still give you a missing bios error, unless the game and bios are from a different region.
Maybe you can post your log file.
-
As long as your MD5 hash is OK, bios will works.
You just need to have the correct typo whicht is requested : as exemple "dc_boot.bin" and not "DC-boot.bin" -
@russell-biering go to http://recalbox to check your bios
-
@ivwshane it while trying the psx it say missing bios file in yellow and runs the game perfect
-
@substring I've did this and have the correct bios. I did it with the Sega CD. I put every bios the md5 program and everyone the match it I but in my bios folder and it still didn't work and I have both my cue and bin of the game in the roms folder
-
@ivwshane tell me what I have to after I check the md5 and put it in my bios folder.
-
@russell-biering then drop roms, carefully read the readme.txt in each rom folder
-
@substring I've done this and it still does work. I got psx to work with one game and it has a cue and bin file. But when I do another game with a cue and two bin files that say track one and track two. I've got Sega CD to run but psx just doesn't work right. And don't get me started on the 3do I have the right bios that's on the wiki and md5 hash matches and it want play at all. And I read every read me for these two and they say you need iso. .cue . Bin and tried all
-
@russell-biering recalbox is case sensitive. If the cue files reference some unexistng bib files, it can't work. Make sure files are properly named (case sensitive ...)
-
@substring can you give me sample of what it should look like
-
@russell-biering you can google translate this page, it should tell you everything : https://forum.recalbox.com/topic/8891/a-lire-emulateur-psx
-
@russell-biering it's still not helping me could you give me a example if it
-
"but when I do another game with a cue and two bin files that say track one and track two."
I think here is the cause of your problem.
You need to convert the games with several .bin-files (track one, two and so on) to one .bin-file.
You can find several how to's for this when you seach with google or here in the forum.
