Insert coin via IR (Remote Control)

Hi!

Is it possible in the recalbox to put an IR device so that I can somehow insert the coins into the games via remote control?

The "Insert Coin" is nothing else than the Select key. That you must anyway define on your remote control.

but then I would have besides the traditional 2 joysticks (usb) would I have a third "control" via IR? And in this one button to add credits in the machine, would this?

That just depend of you. If you dont install 2 Select buttons or make like me a switch inside coindoor to choose freegame. I have this switch to choose Select Button (then illuminated) or coin insert. I put both select input on one relay. If you add remote control 1 or 2 channels with the relay output to the select connection, you can make it remote, sure.
