Laptop Ethernet -> Raspberry Pi 3 Ethernet
-
I just got a Wicked Aluminum case for my Raspberry Pi. It's a great case! However, the WIFI doesn't work when it is in the case. Is it possible to get an internet connection if I plug an Ethernet cable from my laptop to the RPi3?

@userreddit that’s something you can find on the internet, however I’d recommend you to buy an usb wifi adapter for simplicity.

@paradadf Hmm, this is strange. One time, I booted it up and WIFI did work. I took it out of the case and now the WIFI doesn't work. So, the issue seems to be completely unrelated to the case.

@userreddit anyway if you want to plug directly your pi to your laptop through an ethernet cable, you need:
- a crossover ethernet cable (not a standard cable because there is no swtich between the 2 machines)
- to setup a dhcp server on your laptop
