[Solved][GBA] Cant make Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire run

Hello Guys, first of all I would like to say thanks to the creators of recalbox, its a great project and I love to use it!   Unfortunatly I did not find a solution for my problem myself. Yesterday I was trying to play Pokemon Sapphire for GBA, but when I start the rom, it returned to recalbox after a while. I already included the gba_bios.bin file and other games like sonic work on the GBA emulator. Only Pokemon Sapphire and Rubin doesnt work. In another thread I found out that it could have something to do with a game_config.txt file, but I don't know where I should put this file, I already tried to put it in \RECALBOX\System and \RECALBOX\gameboyadvance but it did not work. I would love to play Pokemon since my GBA does not work anymore, could someone help me?

It should work when you put the "game_config.txt" from github intro "/recalbox/share/roms/gba/". And don't forget the name of the rom must be identical with the name inside the game_config.txt. "Pokemon Sapphire.gba", [no]   "Pokemon Sapphire (U) [!].gba", [yes]

Hmm, I tried it with a german and a USA rom, but it does not work here are some screenshots: Any idea?

Mhmhm looks like the standard recalbox gba emulator has some probs with pokemon games. With this tut you can easily add another gba emulator. Hello, yes indeed there is a problem with pokemon games and this emulator. But the problem don't come from recalbox, but from the retroarch core used. So if you want play to your pokemon games, there is a tricks. Start any gba game, once the game booted, press hotkey + B to open the retroarch options menu. There, go to Load Content, then Select File. Now go to your gba's roms folder and select your game /recalbox/share/roms/gba/your_pokemon_game.gba The game should start. The next time you would like to play to this game, start any gba game, go to retroarch menu option and this time go to Load Recent and select your game in the historical. And when you want to save your pokemon games, don't use the in game save, but the savestates (hotkey + X/Y).

on the 3.3.0 bêta we added a new gba core to run pokemons games. So you have juste to edit the recalbox.conf file, and add anywhere : gba.core=mgba The recalbox will switch on this core, and your game start normally.

hello.. I had the same issues with different Pokemon version and after adding gba.core=mgba to the config I could finally play all Pokemon games, however the new emulator/core is awfully slow... is there any way to fix that?

Hi, first, i got my soms from edit no download links at first try pokemon ruby ,saphire ,emerald dit niot work at all. then i found out if you start any GBA game perhaps ruby and befor it runs you press very fast the "+" and "B" key this wil take you to a menu where you select an Emulator and select GPSP!! it wil run but the controls are messed up so i recomend watching this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eM9BB9v9288
