Will be Steam Controller supported in 4.1?

i have the same problem : i'm using the last version 17.12.02, i have controllers.steam.enabled=1 but it still doesnt work.
i can not map any buttons. it somehow detected my steam controller as a xbox controller but i could press any buttons it didnt do anything at all.
i tried again today it didnt even detected it as a xbox controller, there is just nothing.I've tried to disable PS3 controllers, tried to plug my steam controller but nothing works.
any ideas on how to fix it ? thk

@maxime-belloir got my hands on a steam controller, i'll give it a try sooner or later

ok thk a lot

@maxime-belloir first test : it works in debug mode, not normal mode ... toot tired to debug that ...

turn on your controller much after ES has started it works. You'll have to remap it sadly, it can't work with a xbox360 controller

So, Substring, the steam controller does work? Are you using the wireless dongle? When you say to turn on the controller much after it's started... how long is this duration? 5-10 minutes? When you say remap, do you mean that you have to do this every time that you start it up?
Also, are you in normal mode now? If not, how does one enter debug mode?
I haven't tried enabling the steam controller setting. How does one go about trying this setting to enable the steam controller? Sorry for the dumb questions, I'm a complete noob.

@userreddit turn recalbox on, wait something like 1 or 2 minutes after es finished loading, turn the pad on using the wireless dongle.
You need to remap the pad once for all.

@substring Hmm, I tried this and I'm still getting no response from the steam controller. I have not changed this setting that you all have referred to, controllers.steam.enabled=1, because I'm not sure how to. How do I switch this setting? Maybe it will work if I enable this setting?

@substring Nevermind, I'm dumb. I enabled the wifi and signed into the IP address on my computer to edit the conf. I'll see if that works.
edit: it worked! Thank you so much!

@Substring worked for me too, thank !
