Hide Build string on various splash screens
-
Hello!
Is there a way to prevent the build string (recalbox version #) from displaying on boot or while launching a game? I don't mind the recalbox logo showing, but the extremely long build string at the bottom looks tacky.

Hi,
with WinSCP :
-
For the boot you can edit the file
/recalbox/system/resources/splash/recalboxintro.srt
and put an empty space instead of the version number. -
for games launch, you can delete the file
/recalbox/system/resources/splash/logo-version.png
, and duplicate the file logo.png with the name logo-version.png.
Thoses changes will be erased when you do an update, so you have to edit files again.

@idarius You're awesome. Thanks so much!
Just to make this solution more complete, I had to make the system partition writable in WinSCP before this solution worked.
See here: https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-os/wiki/Make-a-partition-writable-(EN)

i saw this on some posts here 2 days ago glad you're happy with that !

what is going on? It seems the codes aren't working here after update =(
Can someone help? -
@erickson-gutierrez you are on official recalbox forum, we don't do support on other forks.
-
@rockaddicted i understand but i'm just asking if somebody can help. Does anyone imagine what would be the problem?
-
@erickson-gutierrez your screenshot show a script that is not present in stock recalbox.
So you are not using recalboxOS.
If you want support, use the forum of the fork that you are using.
Thank you.
