Moonlight won't launch games
-
@Substring Thought so. No I haven't changed them.
-
@DJAndrom3da Have you forced the IP adress in the moonlight.conf ?
-
@Substring Yes
-
@DJAndrom3da maybe your PC's IP changed ?
-
@Substring the IPv4 address is still the same
-
@DJAndrom3da It can fail for only 2 reasons :
- configgen crashed
- moonlight doesn't start
Which recalbox version are you running ? 4.0.2 is not compatible with latest GFE versions

@Substring said in Moonlight won't launch games:

@Substring That should do it, I am on 4.0.2.
-
@Substring so since there's no way of downgrading I'm basically out of luck until a future update that adds compatibility?
-
@DJAndrom3da Then downgrade GFE
-
@Substring Alright I downgraded GFE to 3.0.5.22 but now when I try to pair it with recalbox it hangs on "Searching for server"

Never mind I got it to detect my PC but I still can't launch games. Any other suggestions?
-
@Substring Downgrading didn't work, now what?
-
Hi you can try to follow this :
https://forum.recalbox.com/topic/3744/moonlight-not-pairing/12 -
@DJAndrom3da reboot, it may happen that GFE takes some time to answer. And don't forget to login in GFE
-
@godhunter74 Thank you but I already tried that
-
@Substring Still nothing
-
@DJAndrom3da ok now :
- connect via SSH
- run
/etc/init.d/S31emulationstation restart
- keep ssh open and run a moonlight game. The error should be on the screen (avoid all the lvl0 messages from ES)
-
-
@DJAndrom3da no configgen error, so it's a problem with moonlight
If you're familiar with unix, once you launched a moonlight game, check
~/.emulationstation/es_log.txt
and find the python line launching emulatorlauncher.py and run it from command line. You should get the moonlight error (I hope).If not, this method may be easier : there is a line that should look like
['/usr/bin/moonlight', '-input', '/dev/inputX', '-mapping', ...... ,'game.moonlight']
. Just make a normal command line from it and launch it and report output please. -
@Substring Sorry, I know very little about unix. Could you please give me a step-by-step walkthrough of your instructions?
