GPIO hotkey and select button

I've tested out the GPIO buttons from https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-os/wiki/GPIO-controllers-(EN) And they worked out well except for the hotkey button (can t be use ) , but instead the hotkey is tie with the "select button"

Does this mean that the hotkey button in the gpio pin is not nessesary? Thankyou

Let's say that hk over select needed a hack although it does work much better in 4.0 than on 3.3
