Help with main/clone Roms (fba/mame)

Hi!

I am trying to install 2p versions of “turtles” and “simpsons” game (mame and fba versions).

The main rom works well, but they are 4 players versions.

I was used to put the clone version (2 players versions) in the same rom folders (with main rom), but it is not working on Recalbox 7.2. The game appears on my list, but it just crashes back to the gamelist.

Am I doing something wrong?

@dediz Arcade emulators require you use romsets matching them (name+version), if you use mame2003-plus you'll need romsets for mame2003-plus, if you use FBNeo 1.0.0.03 you'll need romsets for FBNeo 1.0.0.03, etc... You'll need to ascertain first which emulator you are using, "fba/mame" is a bit too vague : mame has several versions and there is no emulator named "fba" either in recalbox.

I am “almost” there: I have put 1.0.0.2 roms on fbaneo folder. The games appear on the Emulationstation, but when I select one of them, it does not load.
BUT….. if I load another game and press hotkey + B to access the menu, I can select “load content” option and directly access the fbaneo folder to load the games. So they work well, with all the options, retroachivements…

I have no idea what I am doing wrong.
Can you help me?

@dediz i think you kept your settings/gamelists from an older recalbox and that might be your problem

I don’t know…. Because I did a small test.
First, I created a folder inside FBANEO named “Konami”. So I put all these roms inside.

The games are being showed correctly, inside the folder. One of them I decided to duplicate and both appears… but none of them loads from ES menu…

Well, your games are loading from RetroArch, they are just not loading from emulationstation, so that's 100% a setup issue caused by your settings/gamelists. I heard you aren't supposed to keep settings/gamelists from an older recalbox, and i've a feeling you did it anyway. Yet i'm not a recalbox specialist, just an emudev monitoring topics talking about his emulator.
