Recalbox on ODROID-Go Super
-
First of all, Thank You to the DEV Team for making it available to the OGS! Installation was a breeze (as usual). I'm working on a YT video for this device (I recently made one for the Pi 4 here: https://youtu.be/RfXS4HMuMDo ). I've noticed a few issues and I was hoping to get some feedback or possible solutions:
- PSX - The BIOS files all appear correct (green check marks), however many of my PS1 games won't load (but do on a Pi 4). The few that do run have audio issues and sluggishness. I don't see any optimizations that can be made, turned off smoothing, etc. Anyone else noticing this? Since Dreamcast can play well, I wouldn't have expected PS1 to have issues.
- N64 - On this system, using MUPEN64Plus (Default) emulator, many on screen artifacts don't show up making it unplayable (Example: Mario Kart 64 just shows the flag and nothing else once started). However, if I set it for LibRetro Mupen64Plus_Next the screen will render, but will be extremely sluggish and poor audio as well.
It would be great if there was an update to address these two issues or if there is another solution please let me know. I would imagine if Dreamcast can play decently, pretty sure the above issues could be resolved.
Thank you again and looking forward to hearing back!

Hi there.
I have a WLAN issue with Version 7.1.1-Reloaded on the OGS.
Not able to get a connection. I have two diffrent WLAN-USB-Sticks, but they seems not working (no LED's are lighting).
On other Firmwares the WLAN is working normal.Regards.

I have noticed audio stuttering on Gran Turismo but only during a race.

Duckstation doesn't work great on portable devices.
Unfortunately it is not possible to switch to another core like psx rearmed.
I personnaly don't understand the recalbox team decision here to lock users behind a core that doesn't work at the moment and will not work in the future (duckstation team said the issue could not be fixed on portable devices). All other OS are using psxrearmed .
Also no update since a long time, snes savestates still dont work.
I would recommand switching to another OS if psx is important to you.

This has already been answered for you:

Developing an operating system is not simple, and the Recalbox team has a small team of developers, who work for free, but nevertheless does its best to serve users well.
I am not a developer, but I say that if a core has been chosen, it is because it has its approved performance, and if a core has been disapproved, it is because its performance is worse than the core that was approved. This is simple to understand, and no assumptions are used for this decision: the cores are tested several times, the fact that some users assume that core X would be better than core Y, without any proof of that, does not change the test results, nor the team's decision not to add an unstable core, or with underperforming performance.I would recommand switching to another OS if psx is important to you.
I recommend that, if YOU are unhappy with Recalbox, be free to choose another OS that YOU like the most, but, I do not recommend that you use the Recalbox forum to tell other users to change OS, it is disrespectful to the team of developers , and we will not tolerate disrespect with the team that is so dedicated.
To see the progress of the new version, follow the changelog:

Recommanding another OS on recalbox forum was not the smartest idea, sorry about that. But PSX does not work that's a fact.
Yes I am frustrated that there is still no update to change the psx core on the odroid go, this should not take months to fix.
Guess I will try myself to dig into the config files to edit the core options.

@SimonC The Core will only be changed IF at some point another Retroarch core proves to be superior in general, but it is better not to create expectations.
Read this:I will try myself to dig into the config files to edit the core options.
See if this helps:
I don't have an Odroid (I only have an Rpi3), so unfortunately I can't help testing it, but maybe some other user can give some feedback here.
You can also try the official Discord, to maybe get feedback from other people and maybe even from the developers (if you speak in French the chances increase even more):
