      I was adding a few games and bios files over winscp and now recalbox won't boot. The screen remains blank and the menu music plays but I cannot select anything..  Has anyone had a similar issue? Not sure what I have done to break it. *This is what i get when trying to get into my NES folder. I have a .zip file that I can't seem to delete 720?.zip <h1>UnicodeDecodeError at /systems/roms/nes/</h1> <pre class="exception_value">'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xb0 in position 4: ordinal not in range(128) <table class="meta"> <tbody> <tr> <th>Request Method:</th> <td>GET</td> </tr> <tr> <th>Request URL:</th> <td>http://192.168.1.121/systems/roms/nes/</td> </tr> <tr> <th>Django Version:</th> <td>1.8.5</td> </tr> <tr> <th>Exception Type:</th> <td>UnicodeDecodeError</td> </tr> <tr> <th>Exception Value:</th> <td>

        I have just tried to access my roms via the recalbox menu (last ones I added before the break were NES) and I got this error message: <h1>UnicodeDecodeError at /systems/roms/nes/</h1> <pre class="exception_value">'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xb0 in position 4: ordinal not in range(128) <table class="meta"> <tbody> <tr> <th>Request Method:</th> <td>GET</td> </tr> <tr> <th>Request URL:</th> <td>http://192.168.1.121/systems/roms/nes/</td> </tr> <tr> <th>Django Version:</th> <td>1.8.5</td> </tr> <tr> <th>Exception Type:</th> <td>UnicodeDecodeError</td> </tr> <tr> <th>Exception Value:</th> <td>

        </td> </tr> <tr> <th>Server time:</th> <td>Sat, 9 Jan 2016 20:26:03 +0100     I also cannot remove these files via winscp as it says they are read only. Any ideas?</td> </tr> </tbody> </table>

just another update, i get an error when trying to edit my .cfg file. has a message that says "You're seeing this error because you have DEBUG = True in your Django settings file. Change that to False, and Django will display a standard page generated by the handler for this status code." Where can i find this folder? Most of my folders I can add/remove stuff but for some reason my nes one is read only and so is the cfg apparently..

Hi, did you switch to the ZOID theme before adding your roms ? How many different system did you put rom for ? try to find the rom folder directly in your windows network and choose nes system and remove all the roms. https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-os/wiki/Manual-(EN)#vi---network-features

There appears to be a nes game that I can't delete, it's called 720?.zip I think that's what's causing the issue. No idea how to remove it... Do you think if I reformat my sd card and this will fix everything? I'm sure it would but I'm worried because when I insert my sd into computer it says it only has a 400mb memory instead of 64gb.

Hi I'm having the exact same issue. The recalbox Pi works fine playing ROMs, configuring Kodi and playing around with settings, but then I transferred a bunch of NES ROMs, rebooted the Pi and I got a blank screen with background music. It wouldn't recognise any input from my controller, so I rebooted but no dice. I removed all the NES ROMs but it made no difference. So, I rebuil the Pi and it was all fine, until again I transferred the NES ROMs over and it did the same thing. I removed the files but there was a '720?.nes' file there, which won't be deleted. I went to the web front-end and it displays an error about the 720?.nes file: <table class="meta"> <tbody> <tr> <th>Request Method:</th> <td>GET</td> </tr> <tr> <th>Request URL:</th> <td>http://10.10.75.6/systems/roms/nes/</td> </tr> <tr> <th>Django Version:</th> <td>1.8.5</td> </tr> <tr> <th>Exception Type:</th> <td>UnicodeDecodeError</td> </tr> <tr> <th>Exception Value:</th> <td>

@retroboy I don't suppose you have any more suggestions as to what might be going on here?

Hi, A quick update to this. It seems to work when I copy over only one or 2 ROMs, but not when I copy over 700+. Perhaps this is where the 720?.nes file comes from? Not sure. Regards, Tom

Hi guys, I ran into this problem today and I think I found out why it's happening. The 720?.zip file is the rom file for 720˚, which has a character in it which recalbox does not support. I was able to get my system booting as normal by removing the ? character from the filename.
