Amiga 1200/600 problem
-
Well I start from fresh latest recalbox rc2. I put my amiga games on folder and all goes ok. But i notice when i run them won't boot. All games are using an autogenerated config from amiberry and it hasn't got any kick rom selected, so they are using aros kick rom. I hit f12, select correct kick(all roms are in right place and works) reset and works. But when i change game still problem, no default kick rom selected. How can i fix it? Whdload same
Thanks -
AMIGA BIOS
The new Recalbox comes with an open-source kickstart replacement, the AROS bios (2019 version).
Our auto-magically configurator use this bios when no other BIOS is available in share/bios folder. Several games have been booted & tested successfully using the AROS bios.
But keep in mind that this is a replacement. It is highly recommended to get the required bios. In particular if you want to run WHD games, because the Amiberry's WHDLoader may change bios settings and seek for the best available kickstart.Here is the list of new required kickstart:
Computers:
- kick33180.A500.rom (Kickstart v1.2 rev 33.180 (1986)(Commodore)(A500-A1000-A2000).rom)
- kick34005.A500.rom (Kickstart v1.3 rev 34.5 (1987)(Commodore)(A500-A1000-A2000-CDTV).rom)
- kick37175.A500.rom (Kickstart v2.04 rev 37.175 (1991)(Commodore)(A500+).rom)
- kick39106.A1200.rom (Kickstart v3.0 rev 39.106 (1992)(Commodore)(A1200)[!].rom)
- kick40063.A600.rom (Kickstart v3.1 rev 40.63 (1993)(Commodore)(A500-A600-A2000)[!].rom)
- kick40068.A1200.rom (Kickstart v3.1 rev 40.68 (1993)(Commodore)(A1200).rom)
- kick40068.A4000.rom (Kickstart v3.1 rev 40.68 (1993)(Commodore)(A4000).rom)
CD32:
- kick40060.CD32.rom (Kickstart v3.1 rev 40.60 (1993)(Commodore)(CD32).rom)
- kick40060.CD32.ext.rom (CD32 Extended-ROM rev 40.60 (1993)(Commodore)(CD32).rom)

@bkg2k Thanks, I know. I have all bios. In fact when i hit F12 I can select them in list. So all of them are accesible by amiberry. In the other hand all required Bios for whdload are built in in boot-zip. When i start the amiberry can see them uncompressed in /tmp too. Don't know what is wrong
Thanks for reply -
@ingloriond bios are not in the zip provided by the emulator. They are still under copyright and cannot be shiped with any emulator.
The required bios must be named strictly as in my previous post and put in the bios folder. Not elsewhere.
-
@bkg2k My rom folder
-
@ingloriond I hope you're kidding...
As I said: NAMED STRICTLY AS IN MY PREVIOUS POST
.rom, not .ROM
-
@bkg2k Oh no no no.. you are right!!!! thanks... Now DH0 is write protect... mmm i'll check file permissions..
Thanks for all -
@ingloriond When the loader complains about DH0: being write protected, it's often because the whdl is not reconized as a true whdl.
I recommend using the well known whdl collections in .lha format. Uncompressed or zipped whdl are often less compatible with the new Amiberry loader

Hi all, these are my first attempts to work with amiga emulation in recalbox.
I think that I did all the steps described here and in the arcade mini-how-to.this is my bios directory:
and this is my amiga600 rom directory:
The uae files are empty and the roms are in .lha format (zip doesn't work and folder unzipped are not showed). When I run games, the amiberry emulator starts (I see Amiberry logo), the screen becomes black and virtual leds stop flashing. Nothing happens anymore. Only once the Turrican 2 rom started, I played it, but at the second run, everything becomes black. Everytime I run games.
I tried to change kikckstart rom from amiberry panel (F12) in ROM section, but nothing changed.The WHDL files are from the famous collections.
Someone can help me, please?

@alvinicoogh do not usz uae and conqider everything for amiga in the wiki is obsolete.
Also if your lha come from whdload.de those are not full games, only files to convert adf original games to whdl
-
@voljega thanks for the answer. Later I'll try without UAE. If the how to is obsolete, which bios do I have to use? Which configuration in amiberry?
Thanks a lot -
@alvinicoogh use the recalbox manager it will say which bios are needeed. Sadly readme.txt is also obsolete
-
@voljega thanks
this is the situation shown by recalbox manager:
Everything seems OK
Also with no .uae files the roms don't start
Is there any amiberry cofig file that i could manage?
-
@alvinicoogh config files are managed automatically.
Which games are you trying ? (Give full names of lha)
-
@voljega
The problem is with every game. Note that in Retropie everythings is good at the first start. Bios and Rom are the same.I tried many times with Turrican2_v1.7_0029.lha - It is the only one that was started once, I don't know if, and what, I changed anything that stopped amiberry to work.
Do you have some screenshots of amiberry configuration to use?
-
@alvinicoogh as I already said, configuration is automically set by default.
I''l try Turrican and will tell you if it works for me
-
@voljega
Yes, I understand that configuration is set by default, but I did many attetmpts to try it, and maybe i break the right combinations. So, if you can send me your actual config, it could be usefull for me too.Tnx
-
@alvinicoogh I will post it for you but I doubt you broke anything, it shouldn't be possible
-
@voljega
These are the screenshots of amiberry configuration in RETROPIE (it works!):
But when i use them in RECALBOX (F12 - Amiberry), i only have this result:
Bios are exactly the same.
I really don't understand the problem
-
@alvinicoogh use hotkey+b
Yeah I forgot one thing : do you have a controller connected and configured ? Won't work without it
