      Hello!

A friend of mine just gave me an old PC (Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ with GeForce 9800 GT). Sadly the Motherboard, an Asus M2A-VM, isn't able to boot from USB (no, an BIOS-Update isn't available).

Is there any possibility to install Recalbox on this machine? There are two HDDs and a DVD-drive installed, Windows 7 worked like a charm...

      Greetings from Germany

      René

Hello and thank you for your reply!

What I do not understand is: How do I install on the built-in HDD when I cannot boot from USB?

          Greetings

          René

@hanker Get the HDD out, burn the recalbox image on it with Etcher on another computer, put it back in you future recalbox computer, boot, no USB involved at all.

Should work, if it doesn't, people who already did that kind of things should be able to help you, they were several subjects about it on the forum.

If you don't have a second system around, you could also boot the target system using any live Linux distribution available on CD or DVD, e.g. Debian or Ubuntu.
Then within that running Linux system, download the recalbox image and burn it (with etcher or any tool you like) onto the hard disk.
