Hello, I have downloaded the beta version and tested on my Raspberry 3B+:

      Works:

      • Xbox360 wireless gamepad: Gamepad remapped, it works well in Recalbox menus and games launched.

      Not Works:

      • Gamesir 3gs wireless gamepad: Gamepad remapped, it works in Recalbox menus but it does not respond in games launched.

      • Retroarch gui menu settings are not saved: I access to Retroarch gui (hotkey+b) and change in Settings->Video->Bilinear filter from On to Off but this change is not saved, after restarting On value go back.

@mariob There's been a few other posts here (including one I made three weeks ago.) No responses yet. Just keep monitoring this thread.

@marblemad nothing you mentionned is new to this beta 😄

@james-lord no one said their was any improvements on the xbox one controllers. If you want to give it a try, see here

@mariob no idea for that kodi problem

@Choum no you can't switch back to stable, changes are way too diffferent. That's why i said one must use a dedicated sd card

@Alex_123 i'm not sure the gamesir 3gs ever worked. Does it work fine on the stable ? For the RA settings, some are overwritten at each new launch. I don't think there is any change between the stable and the beta here

                  Hi.

                  Thank's for your work.

Since the recalbox 4.1, BlueMsx core had been patched to map F1/F2/F5 keys on the first gamepad.
It seems that we lost keys mapping.

I tested applying following commits as indicated :

                  1st update (fix): https://review-master-slwsz0-archive-review-prod.recalbox.com
                  2nd update (master of Pi3b release) : https://review-507-b*mp-b-0jn0c0-archive-review-prod.recalbox.com

I notified this issue as comment on last Gitlab merge dedicated to fix recent BlueMsx core problem : https://gitlab.com/recalbox/recalbox/merge_requests/385

Could you please have a look before releasing stable version ?..

                  Thank's !.

                    Hello,

I am testing recalbox distribution (507-b*mp-bui (fafba916) 28566561 rpi3 2018/08/23) on pi3+ with kintaro super ursus case & 8bitdo SFC30Pro which works pretty well for a upgraded reproduction of my beloved 26 years Snes.

                    1. Rom Suppression
I would like to mention for a potential improvement when you try to suppress a rom directly from the menu (through editing game information/suppress), it crash the recalbox. It would be helpful to find a way to simplify rom suppression through one button (with confirmation) as we do to mark favorites games. Today for each suppression you have to do several menu manipulations to suppress the rom and its time consuming when you try to clean a romset. Its just an idea.

                    2. 8bitdo SFC30 Pro : Mapping is not saved
Trying to remap the gamepad, mapping is not saved everytime you reinitiate the recalbox. hotkey is not working even if you use the 8bitdo button (bottom right) or you map it on select. Start+Select exit dosn't works as well For example in NES emulator (with SMB1), you can't open Retroarch menu to set the shaders or exit of the game. You have to reset the console.

                    3. 8bitdo SFC30 Pro : Input lag
As well i still have light input lag on SFC30Pro with internal bluetooth which is enough for RPG games but for Mario / SFII turbo millimeter gameplay its still not satisfying (i've ordered a BT dongle on the recalstore to try to fix that)

I continue deepdiving on pi3+ test.

thx for the work by the way!

                    Regards

                      +1

                      1. Kintaro SuperUrsus Case Power/Reset/Fan Scripts
And if there's any way to integrate the safe power/ reset / fan scripts to pilot super ursus case inside the next distribution, could be wonderful. (I can share them with you coming from mirefly thread on this forum /michael kirsch files).

                      Thx

Regarding input lag, you could try to use the Run-Ahead feature of RetroArch. But due to the lack of performance of the Raspberry Pi, you should overclock it a bit and deactivate Rewind-Function.

First thing to do is desactivate wifi on your pi , you'll see a significant difference with your input lag

I would suggest to use a dedicated bluetooth-dongle anyway.
Because with my Pi3 even with disabled wifi i noticed a minimal delay.
With a bluetooth-dongle the delay was gone. Also the range is way better.
But this also depends on the bluetooth-dongle, because i once had a dongle, where the range was bad and it also felt like there was lag.

@joinski In my experience I can't say if a BT dongle will help, but some says yes so you could give it a try if you have one.
Anyway, with BT you'll always have latency, the only way to avoid it is to use wired controller.

                                @gaetan

Under some circumstances bluetooth can have less input lag, then wired connection, see here:
                                https://www.reddit.com/r/RocketLeague/comments/8wvf9u/controller_input_lag_comparison_more_info_in_the/

But as already mentioned, it depends of the BT-Dongle, some are better, some ar worse.
It also depends of the used Controller. Some Bluetooth-Controllers do have more and some have less input-lag.
8bitdo Controllers for example (but there was a firmware-upgrade released, which reduced the input-lag a bit).

                                  Hi everybody,

I have this problems with the beta running on Rpi3 B+:

                                  • No sound on background music in menu (Pop-up appears while playing a song, in game sound and music is working...in HDMI)
                                  • Global speed is very slower when using the composite output: sound and video are very slow but "works", no weird things in the video or audio signal (@3fps it's not esay to say)
                                  • Wifi connection doesn't launch at start, have to manually shutdown and reboot wifi (not a big deal for me)

Everything else works great in HDMI with a PS4 wired controller.

--> If somebody has a plan to make the speed back with the composite output it would be great !

@mamouchka9 hdmi sound : it does work, but you can force it

Sluggish on composite video : edit config.txt and remove the audio_pwm_mode (inmay have scrambled the words)

Used Rufus on windows to write image to SD card. Connected x-arcade tankstick and started raspberry Pi 3B+ and got booted out of games I would try to load. Re-mapped controller using controller settings > configure a controller and still has issues.

Connected a pandora arcade controller and ran the 'configure a controller' and had no problems loading games. Link to device below
