edit: instead of "/boot/grub2" there should be a "/boot/grub" directory. Please also post the contents of "/etc/defaults/grub" (if present).

RE: loadkeys missing from recalbox 6.1.1 environment
@paradadf Don't know how to submit a MR. I am actually working on the configure env for the kernel, busybox and buildroot. Will report as soon as the image is ready and stable on my rpi0.

RE: loadkeys missing from recalbox 6.1.1 environment
Checking the buildroot standard .config file (straight from the docker building container as suggested here), kbd isn't selected when trying to build the rpi1 variant of recalbox.
My opinion is that kbd was straight up forgotten, and so it was loadkeys. Very weird, since /etc/init.d/S26recalboxsystem still invokes it. I'll be building a variant which includes kbd and some other minor tweaks for my rpi0.
I'll consider this issue as [solved].

RE: I cannot boot recalbox help
My guess is that your machine falls back straight into the bootloader shell because it cannot find its configuration file, or it is not valid. The bootloader shell is very minimal and it's not easy to work with. Or, the bootloader cannot find the kernel because reasons (wrong kernel name, wrong kernel / dev path, wrong devname most likely).
Please post contents of /cmdline.txt from the flash USB root dir. Verify that the root dir hosts the kernel (zImage or bzImage or uImage). Please also post contents of /boot/ and /boot/grub2 (if present). Check if directory /etc/grub.d is present, and if it holds something. (You might need to access a working Linux system to do this, if the USB stick was formatted in ext4 or similar.)

RE: I cannot boot recalbox help
hi, does this happen from a fresh install or did it work before? or did you upgrade it?
which version are you running? did you follow the installation lines in the DIY section of the main site? (download the image -> write it on a dedicated support)

RE: loadkeys missing from recalbox 6.1.1 environment
Digging around the forum I discovered that people had problems by using any SD etching software other than balenaEtcher, things like "missing files". I used Win32DiskImager and by taking a peek at the partition table with sfdisk it seems pretty messed up. I'm going to back up some stuff, do a brand new flashing and see what changes. Also going to do a sha1 check on the downloaded archive.
Edit: SHA1 matches. Downloaded image is healthy.
Edit 2: nope. Used BalenaEtcher and still loadkeys doesn't show up with find, and the partition table is STILL messed up. As I said, I'm using the image for the Raspberry Pi Zero - wondering which Pi you're using, or more generally, which system image you have installed, therefore wondering IF all images are equal in their basic installed programs - straight question: is loadkeys present in EVERY system image? Could somebody please check if they're having similar problems?

RE: loadkeys missing from recalbox 6.1.1 environment
thanks for the reply
and what could the error be? could you also tell me where it's located exactly?
as far as I can understand, loadkeys (or more generally the kbd package) should be located somewhere in the install environment, or somewhere in the OS image before installing. If so, I should be able to retrieve it manually by mounting the image and copying the files to the recalbox env. Is this feasible?
Edit: not mounting the image, but rather flashing another uSD and see what it's inside
Edit 2: dd'd the img file into a fresh flash, data UNTOUCHED and STILL can't find the executable.

XBox 360 wired controller analog stick issue
hi there again, this is some sort of system-crippling issue related to the wired XBox 360 controller, and more precisely the left analog stick. (Didn't try with the right one but since the left one should be handling character movement, I think it's pretty critical by itself.)
I've tried 2 games so far, on 2 different systems: Metal Slug on FBNeo and TMNT: Hyperstone Heist on Mega Drive. Both give me the same problem, which is: when I move the left analog stick in any direction, the whole system softlocks, the character proceeds on the last direction selected and no input is being accepted, be it from controller or from keyboard - yeah, switching to keyboard doesn't help either. Disconnecting and reconnecting the controller by far only worked on picodrive, and maybe thanks to sheer luck, because on FBNeo it didn't work.
I still haven't tested this issue thoroughly and didn't dig deeper in the config files, though I did reconfigure the controller via the standard Recalbox controller config menu, at least twice, to no avail. Every other input works pretty much flawlessly. If I touch the left analog, recalbox goes nuts. I still didn't run evtest to see what happens, but I plan to, to rule out kernel problems. The very same controller works fine everywhere else - PC or RPi3B with Retropie.
Using DragonBlaze 6.1.1 on Raspberry Pi Zero v1.3 (NO network hardware).

loadkeys missing from recalbox 6.1.1 environment
Snooping around the /recalbox/share/system/logs/recalbox.log file I realized that the loadkeys program is missing: trying to set up the keyboard layout (I do many customizations through keyboard and directly on the OS config files or scripts), the system exits with an error. Loadkeys is invoked by /etc/init.d/S26recalboxsystem around line 60 or so. Am I missing something?
If not, I should whip up a quick building env to compile kbd into the pi, which is a pain. I've downloaded DragonBlaze 6.1.1 for the RPi zero (v1.3, which has no network support). As far as I know (and according to the log) loadkeys never existed in the first place, not even during the first boot.
