    • Fast loading format for ZX Spectrum?

      Hi everyone,

I wanted to play around with some ZX Spectrum games (didn't grow up with the system, was a C64 kid) and was wondering if there was an equivalent to the C64's .crt format to bypass the long tap or disk loading times on the speccy.

      Appreciate any help,

      Trantor

    • Can I organize favorites by "last played"?

      Hi everyone,

I was wondering if the favorites list can be organized by last played. It would make it easier to jump right back into the last game I was playing each time I reboot.

If not, is it possible to add an extra "last ten games played" type shortcut list, similar to the favorites?

      Thanks in advance,

      Trantor

    • RE: Adjusting aspect ratio for Dreamcast and N64

@gaetan The sound glitches were the most noticeable. It was a weird crackling. Sadly I only have three DC games on the system (Souldcalibur, MvC2 and Virtua Tennis). VT had graphic glitched on both settings and MvC2 produced blank vertical lines through the sprites when they moved to the right side of the screen in CEA. It was a weird effect (and only on some sprites... A wild guess is that they used textures over flat 3D models instead of sprite hardware here, but that's really just speculation.

    • Best version of Worms that runs on Recalbox at the moment?

      Hi everyone,

Hope this is the right forum section for this. I got a hankering to play Worms on my Recalbox, and after a lively round with some friends last night playing the SNES version, which is ok, but not great, I was wondering which version of the game runs best on the system? PSX releases? Some 16 bit version I may be overlooking? My only goal is to have it run using nothing more than the joypads, for ease of play.

    • RE: Adjusting aspect ratio for Dreamcast and N64

@trantornator Ok... so the DMT to CEA fix worked but generated both sound and graphic glitches. Guessing it was a timing issue with the screen or some such. I did end up manually changing the aspect ratio for these two emulators (a different TV I have did in fact have an automatic recognition function that recognized these emulators and displayed normally). Thanks for the assist @Gaetan .

      @voljega Thanks!

I adjusted the settings for Dreamcast in the cfg file and it did fix the aspect ration problem, but seems to have introduced some sprite tearing (foreground sprites in MvC2 and backgrounds in SouldCalibur) as well as some weird popping sounds, especially when the screen shifts (between menus and gameplay, for example). Did this also happen on your system? I'm running an RPi3 at 1300.

    • Adjusting aspect ratio for Dreamcast and N64

      Hi everyone,

I'm guessing this has to do with reicast and the N64 emulator not being part of the normal EmulationStation structure (and yes, I admit I don't understand the technical aspects of all of this), but both emulators are running stretched out (so much wider than 4x3). How can I change the default settings for these two emulators to render in 4x3 with black borders on the sides on a 16x9 TV?

      Kind regards,

      Karl

    • RE: Amiga not booting

@voljega I thought of that. And I think they are good. I did get Pinball Dreams to boot as an adf on the 1200, so I'm thinking there might be some other issue going on.

here's a link to the launch attempts with several games.

    • Amiga not booting

      Hello everyone,

Just been playing around with a whole new install of Recalbox and I've gotten everything working, except for the Amiga 600 and 1200. I've tried WHDLoad as well as ADF files to no avail. It starts to launch, goes black and then back to the menu.

I'm trying it on an unaccelerated Pi3, all updates installed.

Here is my launch script. https://file.ac/xwKW7w_l43E/

I'd appreciate any help you may have for me here.

      Kind regards,

      Trantor

    • Super High Pitched Whine from speakers with X86 Recalbox

Hi guys, I tried running the 32 bit X86 version on my old Acer laptop, an E1-571, Intel i3-3110M, INtel 4000 graphics, 4 GB DDR3.
It booted off of usb without a problem but a super high pitched Buzz was produced constantly in the menu screen. The Volume settings were set to 0 according to the menus. I couldn't shut it off.
Does anyone know what this could be due to and how to fix?
      Thanks in advance.

@Pepe, I just turned off my firewall and it's working. Thanks for all the help, I now know a lot more about how this thing works. Hopefully I can help someone else in the future. 🙂

@Pepe, I checked and the samba system is set to 1 and my network print and file sharing settings are also on (and have been the whole time). Still not being found by Windows Explorer under either \recalbox nor the IP address.
Two other devices, a Chromecast and a Fire Stick are both showing up and accessible.

@Pepe sorry to be a pain, but is there an editor installed in recalbox's command line? I tried a sudo command but it didn't work and couldn't recognize any editing commands under the help menu

@Pepe Which directory is the config file in, for me to edit it via telnet? Now that I've deactivated the web based interface, I can't find the config file. 🙂

      Hi guys,

I changed the system manager settings in the config and was able to deactivate the web interface, but it is still not showing up on my network through windows explorer. I can still log in through Putty and and WinSCP. Any way to get a more direct connection going than through ftp? Is there some setting in recalbox that would add a necessary permission, perhaps? I'd like the speed and accessibility that copying over my home wifi would achieve.

    • Can the web based recalbox manager be bypassed?

      Hi,

I just ran the update (postponed for a long time) and I'd like to be able to upload files via Windows explorer, but when I enter the recalbox's IP address, it automatically opens the web based manager, which seems to have a problem with a bunch of file formats, not showing many on the system and not letting me upload many more. Any ideas how to bypass this? I've also tried ftp clients, but they seem very slow and unreliable.

      Thanks in advance.

@trantornator I figured out the problem. Extensions were Z80 not z80.
