    • Help getting Gamecube working in Recalbox

I was moving along well with other emulators in my Recalbox and they are all working great. I seem to have hit a wall with GameCube though. Any game I try goes black and immediately back to the gamelist again. Normally I fix this by simply changing the core or using a different file extension but in this case nothing has worked.

For gamecube I noticed that while emulator shows "Default (Dolphin)", core simply says "Default ()" and there are no other options. The way this is presented as "Default ()" almost sounds like there is no core at all. I have tested with ndkit.iso, ndkit.gcz, and with plain ISO and GCZ but to no avail.

I also followed this guide and created the USA, EUR, JAP directories and dropped the correct IPL.bin in each. I am not using a RPi, but a full size desktop computer which is plenty powerful enough. Is there anything I may be missing? or does Gamecube require any unique steps?

I have tried with 3 games so far: Blood Omen 2, Mario Party 5 and Mario Party 6. Same result for all.

    • RE: Issues migrating liveUSB to larger volume

Hmm, may have been a problem with the USB drive. Used a different one (of same size, 16GB) and it worked fine. Guess I will keep trying different ones.

DHCP is probably handing out that address. One method would be to obtain the MAC address for your RP3 and then access your router and create a DHCP reservation for that MAC. What this will do is when your RP3 tries to connect to the network the DHCP server will recognize the MAC address and hand it the IP address you have specified. Just make sure that IP is not already in use.

I'd give you steps but it can vary on router. But you can just navigate to the IP in your web browser. If your not sure of your router IP just open cmd on a windows PC and type ipconfig /all. The router IP will be the "default gateway" IP

Are you pinging with the IP or with the hostname? Be sure to also try IP, as it is possible that DNS isnt resolving. If your pinging from windows make sure you have windows firewall disabled. Also wouldnt hurt to test with any antivirus firewalls disabled if the IP doesnt ping either

    • Issues migrating liveUSB to larger volume

So I originally ran my RecalBox from a persistent 16GB USB flash drive. Works great, but now I am of course needing a bit more space as I've begun trying out Saturn games. I used ImageUSB to create a BIN image of my current recalbox drive, then I in turn wrote that to a 32GB drive I have on hand. I then plugged it into a Ubuntu box and used gparted to extend the unallocated space.

After booting back into Recalbox I got an "Uncompression Error - System Halted", which I assume is resulted from the partition extension somehow screwing up the boot. So next I started over and this time checked the "extend" box within imageUSB, but the imaging failed, so 3rd try.

Started over once again and this time did not extend yet, and instead tested booting beforehand...new drive partially boots but gets stuck at the recalbox loading screen with the pac-man ghosts. Left it here a good 20 minutes to no avail.

My original source drive still works fine, but not sure what the issue is since this is a cloned image, in theory it should work exactly the same. I may test with a different USB drive to rule out the hardware, but did I do this right? Did I miss a step somewhere?

    • RE: CONNECTION RESEAU WIFI

I have personally never been able to get my home wifi to work on my recalbox 6.1.1 running on a cheap Asus netbook. Any time I add roms or BIOS to it I have to plug it directly into my switch at home (yes I use a switch at home). I will be watching this thread. What happens when you add the Wifi SSID and password in network settings? after it says wifi enabled, if you go back into network settings does it show an IP?

Also in my experience I have never had success UNC'ing to my recalbox by hostname. I recommend connecting by IP.

    • RE: Saturn not loading

      Nevermind, I figured it out.

      1. BIOS files needed to be in root of BIOS folder, not in "Saturn", there were a few BIOS files I didnt copy down to root. This moved me forward to the "Uncorrectable data at sector 0" error, and the Saturn logo, but wouldnt boot the game.
      2. Athough the readme in recalbox saturn folder indicates "Rom files must have a ".cue/.toc/.m3u/.ccd/.chd/.iso/.mds/.zip/.7z" extension"
It would see 7z extensions would not work. I extracted the 7z file for Shining Force 3 and moved both bin files and the cue file into a normal folder within Saturn\Shining Force III and now it loads fine. So the readme apparently is misleading.

      Hope this helps someone else.

    • Saturn not loading

Hello, I setup a RecalBox on a 16GB usb drive last week and have trial and error gotten most consoles to work (Megadrive, SNES, PSX, N64, MAME, Sega CD.

So far the two that are giving me the most trouble are Sega Saturn and Dreamcast. With Saturn I have tried each core (though research suggests that Mednafen is the preferred), and I have made sure I have each BIOS file. To be extra sure that the files are in the expected location I have copied each BIOS file to be located in several locations but to no avail:

i have them all dumped in \recalbox\share\bios\Sega Saturn
Also copied them to root of bios folder.
Additionally downloaded the stvbios which is a subfolder under Sega Saturn. Also copied those into the Sega Saturn folder.
Made a copy of Sega Saturn BIOS v1.00 (US).bin and renamed it mpr-17933.bin
Made a copy of Sega Saturn BIOS v1.01 (JAP).bin and renamed it sega_101.bin

Heres my BIOS content for Saturn. I am at a loss on how to get this one to work so far.
      saturn.PNG

I have not dug too far into Dreamcast yet though, only downloaded a BIOS pack and switched cores. More concerned about Saturn at the moment (Need to play Shining Force 3)

Can anyone else spot anything I may be overlooking? As far as hardware goes I am primarily using a cheap Asus netbook which barely runs N64, but since I'm using a Live persistent USB I simply boot it onto a better PC if I need to play 32bit or higher.
