Then I'm sure someone will be along to help but just to clarify recalbox 7.1.1 can run on pi4 because I use it and I'm sure many others do.

@dokaponking your not going to get much help with that little information provided!
Hi,
I also have the same problem
I have a raspberry pi3b + in a retroflag snespi case.
Mine is a fresh install on a new sd card.
I have no sound within recalbox in the menu or games but the boot video when I first switch it on does have sound which is strange.
I have checked sound settings and everything is set how it should be.
Thank you
Rob
Hi all,
I see the latest version of recalbox supports light gun games.
My question is do these work across all consoles.
Does this work for say example ps1 games, the snes super scope, mega drive menacer, and obviously the nes zapper.
I'm interested in buying the equipment to get this up and running if so.
Also is there any documentation in English. I can only find in French.
Thanks

Ignore this post, I've just found a old post me asking the same question which has been answered regarding a old setup of mine.
Hi all,
My wife got me a gpi case and a pi 400 for Christmas.
I set the gpi case up straight away and I've had much fun with it, but the pi 400 has been in the box since Christmas and today is the day I'm going to set it up.
I've read on this forum I'm best to put the recalbox image on my sd card and my roms on external storage.
As I have a spare western digital external hard drive I would like to use that due to the fact I would like to have quite a few sega cd games which I use to like.
My question is, which format is best to format this hard drive to for use for recalbox.
Thanks
Rob
@he-zong-lin
Because the roms need to be in the roms folder not the bios folder.
You also need to have the neogeo bios zip file in the same folder as your neogeo roms.

Well it turns out my original problem of roms failing to transfer over the network to the sd card may actually be caused by either a faulty sd card ao a fake!
I have tried to start from scratch and after cleaning the SanDisk 128gb sd card with sd formatter the card now only shows it has half the capacity as it should do, I've tried writing recalbox to the sd card which it does but really slow, I've then tried copying a file directly to my sd card whilst its plugged into my laptop and it only has a transfer speed of 1mb.
I got out my old trusty samsung 32gb sd card, replicated the above that I tried with the new card and transfer speed was around 30mb. Wow thats a massive difference.
So put the old card into my pi, tried transferring a few cd based roms and it worked absolutely fine.
So this thread is now solved as it is a sd card fault.
Thanks all
@Alexandre-M said in What format for external HDD:
@robmcc83
Bonjour.
My drive is also a wd blue and I have the snespi case so very similar setup im probably best to go with extfat then, will give it a try when I get a moment. Does the drive have to have a mbr or gpt partition table or does recalbox support both.
Thanks for your help
Hi all,
purchased a 128gb sd card and im having a hard time copying files over the network to the pi 3 with recalbox 7.1.1
Smaller roms are fine but trying to copy over my psx and sega cd roms over the network is just causing crashes and hangups.
so ive decided to use a external hard drive i have spare for the roms and would just like to know what is the best way to format this for recalbox for example fat32, exfat, ext4 or ntfs.
Thanks in advance
Rob
