Hello, I'm having the same issue here:

I boot up the old Wolfanoz 1TB image and PS3 controller is working there. Under emulation station setup I'm able to connect it. If you want me to post any configuration let me know. We can compare it Recalbox. but I'm not linux master.
If I find out any solution I post it here.
