I have the same problem 6.1.1 x64 and x86.

With the x64 version I can't even access the file S03splash. With the x86 version it works at first, but after that I tried to set up a WiFi network and it only boots in verbose mode. And when I launched Kodi breaks everything and did not even boot again.

Core i7 6500U Intel HD Graphics 520

I've tried many times with boot versions, always fresh installation and using balenaEtcher, in an SanDisk 16gb USB.

c'est que tu n'as pas pris le temps de comprendre et de réaliser les étapes.
et sans informations complètes et détailées de ta part on ne pourra pas t'aider.
Il ne suffit pas juste de balancer des overlays.
