I'm trying to configure this controller (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001504377391.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.1c9b6196SQ3LWl&algo_pvid=2cb020db-c20f-40ae-ae7c-08438bec1dbc&algo_exp_id=2cb020db-c20f-40ae-ae7c-08438bec1dbc-7) with Recalbox 7.2.2-Reloaded on a Raspberry Pi 4B (2 GB RAM).

I'm using a Logitech wireless keyboard with a USB unifying receiver to navigate the menus.

The controller pairs ok via Bluetooth but then a message shows in the top right advising that it needs configuring. When I attempt to configure it, the screen shows:

CONFIGURE INPUT
1 GAMEPAD DETECTED
HOLD A BUTTON ON YOUR DEVICE TO CONFIGURE IT.
PRESS ESC OR THE HOTKEY TO CANCEL.

I tried holding a b**ton on the controller but nothing happens.

When I plug the controller in via USB, it detects as a XBOX360 controller.

Would this controller not be compatible via Bluetooth?

Thanks. Any reason why the normal Xbox One controller wouldn't work? I've tried both models - one with the 3.5mm jack and one without.

Is there any special configuration or process required? The Xbox light is lit on the controller like it has connected ok but I can't navigate the menus. It is the only controller connected.

All of the 360 controllers work fine when they are connected (I have enabled xboxdrv and disabled ps3).

I've been using the the latest version of Recalbox with 4 x 360 wired controllers (2 genuine, 2 3rd party) and it's been working ok by enabling xboxdrv and disabling the PS3 driver. Sometimes one of the 3rd party ones will drop out and stop working, ie change from constant light indicating controller number to all flashing.

Anyway, I disconnected all the 360 controllers and tried an Xbox One controller with a USB cable. It didn't work at all in the menu. Also, I tried my Xbox Elite controller and after powering up the Pi, it seemed to be booting from the controller. Strange.

Anyway, is there an extra step I need to do to get the Xbox One controllers working?

Thanks for the help. It turns out that the Sandisk 16GB micro SD cards bought from different stores were reporting different storage capacities - one being 14.4GB and the other 14.8GB. Both are confirmed as genuine but with different manufacturing dates - one June 2016 and the other October 2016 and from different locations - China and Taiwan.

I ended up just rebuilding the Recalbox on the second card.

@Substring Thanks - makes sense and will definitely look to do that in the future.

Would you have any ideas why though cloning from a 16GB card to a 16GB card results in the roms not being copied over? The partitions look the same once the clone is finished but the partition with the roms is smaller on the cloned card. Perhaps because Mac OSX can't read the EXT4 partition natively?

I followed this method for cloning a 16GB SD card on a Mac - https://computers.tutsplus.com/articles/how-to-clone-raspberry-pi-sd-cards-using-the-command-line-in-os-x--mac-59911

It seemed to work ok but I noticed that the roms didn't copy over and it seems the config is set back to default (for example, the 360 controller light was flashing instead of being on player 1).

Any ideas?

Anyone know if the fake, knockoff 360 wireless receivers work with recalbox?

EDIT: All ok. I deleted all the cfg files under /recalbox/share/roms/mame/mame2003/cfg and power cycled the Pi.

The cfg files were recreated once I opened the game and R2 allowed me to show the menu again.

I had the R2 button mapped to show the on screen display in MAME for Input (General) but somehow the mapping was accidentally deleted... the kids were button mashing.

Is there any way of setting the mapping to R2 again?
