I did figure out what happened. In advanced emulator configurations I could change to use Genesis-Plus-GX for both Mega Drive and Master system.
My games that were crapping at runtime now runs smooth on my Rpi 3.
I didn't know it came bundle in the factory Recalbox 6.0 image.
